The previous owner of the house had had radon abatement put in by this company over 10 years ago.. I saw their tag when I noticed the gauge in a position which indicated a problem with the system. So I called them and when the owner learned that I was totally unfamiliar with the system, he explained that the main switch to power the fan might have gotten turned off, and I should check it before I should commit to paying for a repair visit. So I did check it, that was the problem, and he saved me money and himself time. The system has been working perfectly for the past 6 years I've had this house, and my neighbor (who shares an wall) claims it is so good he has not needed a system for his house. So I can not recommend them highly enough.

Work was done efficiently and effectively and took about 6 hours of total time. Roger showed up on time, worked by himself and got the job done without a snag. Price was extremely competitive. We highly recommend AQC, INC if you need this type of work. Thanks Roger!

We have a split level with a basement built in 1957,  so there was a question whether one or two holes in the basement floor would be sufficient or if another hole would have to be created under the slab of the family room/ garage area of the house.    Roger suggested two holes in the basement floor and then test.  IF the test would fail to me the 4.0pC standard, he would come back and add other suction hole and piping at no additional charge. The configuration of the basement required him to go up and over the main beam and then route the pipe in our main basement storage area such that we didn't lose storage space.  Finally, we didn't want the pipe outside to be visible from the front of our home.  Roger ran the pipe up along side the chimney so that it met the requirements to clear the roof line and yet isn't visible from the street.  Roger minimized loss of storage in the basement and hid the pipe from the street.
The new system was tested and meets the standard of < 4.0 pC easily. The fan was placed unobtrusively on the "utilities" side of the house with the A/C unit and is very quiet.   Very well done and warranted for 5 years.  I would recommend AQI to anyone.

Roger was quick to respond to my initial questions and set up a time to come to my home to provide an estimate.  He was knowledgeable and courteous and stayed exactly within his estimate.  He showed up on time and worked diligently to complete the job.  I am very happy with Roger, the quality of his service, and the end results of the system he installed, which reduced the test results to way under the threshold of concern.  While I certainly hope, as would anyone, that I never need radon remediation services again, I would certainly utilize Roger at Air Quality Control, Inc., again and recommend Air Quality Control to anyone seeking such services.

After receiving the inspection report (from another company) that we had a very high level of radon in our newly-purchased home, we got a hold of Roger at Air Quality Control. He was able to get in to take an estimate on an expedited basis (so we could negotiate down our final sales price). Because he was able to work with us so quickly, I went with him immediately when it came time for installation.
The day of installation, he walked me through what he was going to do beforehand, and let me know when he was going to be making a lot of noise or when he had to turn off breakers. These were completely unnecessary warnings (I figured doing wiring and drilling into concrete were going to cause some complications!) but showed that he was really concerned about making the process totally worry-free for me. He completed the job, and showed me his work. Finally, the invoice was exactly what he quoted in the estimate. Love that.
I hope I'll never NEED to hire AQC again (could really do without the radon!) but I would recommend them 100% to anyone who needs such services. I've had a lot of contractors in and out of my house between closing and move-in, and AQC is among the best.

The main day of the installation went pretty well. Lee, the installer, was fantastic and really worked hard to get the system finished. Up until then, we were very pleased. Since the radon remediation is guaranteed, we set up the short term test they left with us and then mailed it in. We waited a while for the results and never got them. I had to leave multiple messages with Roger, the owner, before he finally returned a call. He seemed put out to have to continue to deal with me and passed the responsibility buck to another company. I said I didn't care, my contract was with him. He said he'd call me back after a week and still hasn't three weeks and multiple phone calls later. We're going to conduct our own short term test to verify that the system works. My concern is how to deal with a company that is non responsive if the guaranteed service level is not met. I'll update this as details warrant.

PRICE SEEMED HIGH, BUT THE WORK WAS SOLID. THERE SEEMED TO BE A DISCONNECTION BETWEEN THE GUY WHO DREW UP THE PLAN AND THE GUY WHO CAME TO INSTALL. STILL, HE MADE IT WORK AND DID IT IN A TIMELY MANNER.
