He is a small local guy. Compared to the bigger companies he does an awful lot of work. In the township that we live in to put the sewer that meets the safety requirements the government requires they are trained and knew how to apply stuff. So they only let you use certain contractors and he was one of the ones and we opted to go with him. He did excellent work on that aspect. He just didn't do the finishing work that was in the contract. The yard when you drain and crush all the stuff down you have moisture and everything getting into the ground and settle. So you have ditches and things and he just never came back and fixed that. His price was much better than the big companies. So I guess you get what you pay for. Everything was really good with the work. His work is exceptional. He is very good which is why we went with him. His promptness is not so high. In other words, if he says he is going to show up he might not show up for three days. So that's a little hard but at the same token since the township was requiring that everybody put these in they all had a time frame that they had to get the work done and a lot of people went with him because he was a local person that people knew and trusted and he had better pricing than the big companies. So we knew he was kind of bogged down but that can be frustrating if it isn't a really busy season. His work really was very good. He did his electrical wiring. My husband oversaw everything he was doing and was extremely pleased with everything except for the fact that he didn't comeback like he said he would to take care of adding top soil and grass seed to cover where everything had sunk after a couple of months. I have to be honest because everybody has said he is not the most prompt person in the world. That's probably his downside. He will get back to you but it might not be when he said he would but his work itself is unbelievable high quality and he is willing to work with you. In other words, when you are running electrical work from the fuse box out to the pump when it's an existing home you have to go around barriers, you don't want to break up like your patio and stuff like that and when we had gotten the bids from McGovern and Kristman they were going to do the wiring where it was going to be very visible along our gutter lines and they've been actually pipes that just have been covered so it would look like extra piping. Joe was able to come up with a way of doing the wiring so the quote went a little bit farther. So it cost us a tiny bit more but none of it was visible. He is willing to go above and beyond for a lot of the stuff. It's just that once he leaves he doesn't come back and the promptness thing but the quality of his work is just so nice and he is willing to work with you. I mean, even where he put in the grinder pump we knew roughly where it was vented out because of the township regulations and having the big guys come in and give us quotes and everything but he was willing to put it a little bit to one side more so it wasn't as visible because there is this like little dome that shows and he did that because with little bit more mask by some of our shrubs and also because we told him that we were planning somewhere down the road to expand our patio. So we wanted to keep a certain area open so that if we expanded we didn't have to worry about trying to deal with this grinder pump. So he moved it. He was just really really very good.
Description of Work: Gomez Excavating put in the sewer lines for us. We had a septic field and a holding tank that had to be completely destroyed and cleaned up for environmental reasons. They dug up the yard but they didn't really dig it up that much, he actually fit it underneath because we have a huge yard. It's one and a half acres but he had to do it where it was most of the work like the house front part and they set one of those lines up through to the house, put in a grinder pump and then attached it to the house and did the electrical work to run from the pump into our fuse box so that if there is ever a failure with the pump grinder then it sets off the emergency alarm so that you know to shut it down and to call and get work done on it because otherwise you'll have sewage backing up in your house. So he installed a grinder pump and the lines to take the sewer waste from your house down to the street where connection to the main sewer lines that the townships control.
