We had used Christian's Pluming 1 time before and were pleased with Jarrod's work. My husband called and told Jarrod what we needed done as my husband nor I are able to do the basement stairs any longer. Jarrod called later that evening to tell us how much it would cost and that he would be there the next day to do the work. He estimated around $600 as he was basing that on the job taking 6 hours. Jarrod arrived the next morning at the time he said he would and he started doing the job. The floor in the room where we were putting the washer and dryer was hardwood. So before Jarrod came I put down a vinyl floor just tacking around the edges, as to not do any damage to the hardwood if anything should lead from the appliances, I had to do this myself as my husband was too ill to help me, I had to work from a small stool as I could not kneel on my 2 replacement knees. The vinyl floor turned out really nice, I explained to Jarrod why I put the Vinyl floor down and told him it was only tacked on the edges. I did not stand and watch Jarrod as he did the job. He asked me if I wanted all the plumbing to run down one hole, Not being a plumber I told him yes as I assumed this was the way the job would need to be done. He also drilled a 4and quot; hole for the dryer vent to pass through. Jarrod was done in 4 hours and he cleaned up his things and went to his truck to make up our bill. After Jarrod had left and my husband felt well enough to go in and see the work that Jarrod had done. My husband got very upset when he saw that Jarrod had drilled one 4and quot; hole for all the plumbing lines to pass through and had not made a separate hole for each line to pass through. I also saw a white line coming from the dryer vent hole. I discovered that the vinyl floor had 2 tears in it. There was a 12and quot; rip and a smaller triangle piece totally torn away and just laying there. My husband called Jarrod and told him that he was not pleased with the job that he had done and that I was very upset that he did not tell us that he ripped the vinyl flooring. My husband gave me the phone as he needed to sit down because of his illness. I told Jarrod I was very upset and told him that I felt him asking me if I wanted all the lines to run through one hole not right as he was the plumber and I believed he would be doing the job at my home the same way he would do it if he were doing it in his own home. I told him that he should not have charged us the entire amount that he charged to which he replied that he would come and take all the things he purchased and put in my home back out! Needless to say that conversation did not end well. I told him I was going to put a review on Angie's List and that seemed to be the only thing that upset him. That I would be dragging him name through the mud. I told him I will only be reporting the way he did the job. I will not be calling him for any other plumbing problems.
Oh and by the way, the first job he did in July 2014, with our leaking toilet, I went down the basement the other day and the toilet is still leaking in the basement!
I was extremely pleased with the service he provided and would highly recommend that if you purchase new appliances and need them installed to forgo the installtion service provided by the retailer and contact Jerrod directly. I guarantee you will be pleased with both the pricing and the service.
Fortunately, I also discovered that Jerrod was in the plumbing business and we discussed our plans to install a half bath on the main floor of the house. Jerrod gave me his business card and I promised to call him when we were ready to get an estimate. A few weeks later, I called Jerrod and left a message that we were ready for the estimate. We also contacted another company for an estimate as well. Jerrod's response was very quick and he came out the next day to do the estimate. He explained everything thoroughly including the time it would take to complete the installation. The next day, we had the second service provider come out and what a difference. Where as Jerrod had made everything seem simple, the second provider kept pointing out problems and why it would be a difficult job. The second estimate came in twice as high as Jerrod's and even if they had been close, we still would have gone with Christian Plumbing.
The installation when beautifully with Jerrod providing the same high level of service that he had displayed when he had installed our appliances. It didn't even phase him when he discovered he had to go through four inches of concrete in the basement to install the new drains. He took it all in stride and did not increase the price even though he had to do extra work. He also came back an extra day to put the laundry tub back because he didn't think the concrete was dry enough (again with no incease in price. )
Jerrod did an outstanding job installing the half bath. Working in an older home (about 100 yrs) isn't easy...but Jerrod has the experience and the knowledge to do the job right. I highly recommend him for any plumbing needs you may have and guarantee you will be completely satisfied with his work and his reasonable pricing.
Needless to say, when we needed a garbage disposal installed a few weeks later, we called Jerrod to do the job.
We will definitely call Christian's Plumbing for any future plumbing needs we may have. Thanks Jerrod for doing such a great job for us on all three installations.
"Thank you so much for your kind words and it was a pleasure doing the work for you."
