ORKIN ELECTRIC SYSTEMS

Jeff of Orkin Electric was very responsive on a weekend to our emergency power needs. Following a fire in the other half of our twin home he was prompt, professional, and understanding. Besides reparing the power feed he worked with the local fire chief and inspector, and the power company to get our power restored safely, and followed up to be certain it went well.

Called Jeff on a Thursday; he promised to call on Monday. He not only called but sent Ray out on that very Monday. The problem was weird, and when Ray had trouble with it, Jeff came out, too. They fixed a couple of contributing problems and did an overall great job! This is the second time Jeff has done better for less than another. Excellent company!

Jeff came out to give me the estimate prompty (on a weekend) and was very patient to explain the work needed. This is a post-inspection repair for my home sale so he was quite accomodative and was able to have the job done within a couple of days. His pricing is fair and trasparent.

good maybe a little pricey but may also be normal electrical labor/parts prices. i did not have time to compare. but ddi see they had a good rating on Angies list prior my selecting them..

(1) Visit by Mr. Orkin and discussion of needs, options, and cost.
(2) Agreement.
(3) Installation as stated above.

I met Jeff Orkin, the owner of Orkin Electric, in Jenkintown last week. Because I had been in the process of getting quotes, I asked Jeff to come by and provide an estimate. He arrived with Kevin Lynch, another manager in his firm, and they explained how the work would be done. We have knob and tube wiring in our house, and they are very familiar with old houses.

A written quote arrived later the same day as a pdf document, itemizing various tasks. The quote was less than half the price of what was quoted to me by a provider recommended by an Angie's list Big Deal offering. And the work was scheduled at my convenience (two business days later). Orkin Electric has very considerate and efficient office staff. Four people, led by Kevin, arrived right on time and completed the work in about two hours (they had said it would take this amount of time). They were clean, draping drop clothes both at the front door and where the work was done.

When they finished and cleaned up, they explained to me what was done and ran the fan at high speed to ensure that it didn't wobble.

I have dealt with Orkin in the past. They have installed a new electrical service supply to the outside of my house, and have put in ceiling fans, exhaust/heating units in bathrooms, and a dedicated line prior to this job. They came out first to see how the best way to install the dedicated line, and saved me money by tapping into the line for the whole house fan instead of having to fish a line from the other end of the house, which would have cost much more. They also repaired a piece of duct work to vent out an exhaust fan in the attic for free. The heater is now working fine without tripping any circuit breakers.

The team arrived on time, were well spoken and professional. They took the time to explain everything being done and where corrections were needed . Additionally they were able to help us trouble shoot a dangerous issue with our stove and ultimately correct it.

Picture this: We are preparing our house for an Open House on Sunday when the chandelier in our dining room suddenly stops working. I was calling around on a Friday morning looking for someone who could come out and fix it the following day as I had an appointment for that afternoon. When I called Orkin they got back to me promptly, they asked me to describe what happened, and the light fixture elements. They understood my time constraints, said they could get somebody out to me before his lunch break. Within half an hour there was an electrician replacing the switch in my dining room. It took 15 minutes in all. He was professional and friendly, cleaned up after himself. I couldn't have been more pleased.

This is by far the best contractor I've ever dealt with. His estimates are right on. The workers are clean and neat. They're just phenomenal and they come when they say they will.

Jeff and his crew were extremely professional, prompt and clean. They came when they said they would, stuck to their very reasonable estimate and did very high-quality work--explaining what they were doing and cleaning up after they were done. They said they would be done by a certain time and even brought in a couple of other electricians to make sure they finished as they said they would. I've used them back to install ceiling fans, light fixtures, and check my entire system. I recommend them to EVERYONE I can. They are terrific...I don't even think about using anyone else.
