While I considered buying a new range at a big box store knowing that replacing an oversized old range would be costly, I decided on local Jenkintown Electric instead.  First, they had been straight with me regarding the repair of the old range.  I really think that the cost of the new one was no higher and the service and advice seemed really good.  It was a big job lugging the old range out and installing the new one. But it worked out well and I really think that they know what they're talking about as opposed to some of the big box staff.  I would definitely go to them next time I need a new appliance- I would rather support local businesses anyway.

They came out promptly to figure out what was wrong and they were able to resolve the issue.

Called on Wednesday regarding our washing machine that had stopped working.  It took a few hours to get a callback to schedule the service visit.  Visit was scheduled for Friday between 10 and 12.  Technician showed up at 12:10.  Within 5 minutes the problem was diagnosed and within 20 minutes the repair was made.

Extremely well. Mike was a great help and everything went quickly. They delivered and installed the washer on the day I requested, in48 hours, and the young men who installed it did an excellent job. As buying a clothes washer is not my favorite expense, I appreciated how easily the job was completed. The price was competitive especially as they did not charge for delivery and installation as most suppliers do. Now I know where to buy any appliances that I may need in the future. Great job, Mike.

went very smoothly with no hitches

I bought a GE clothes washer from Jenkintown Electric. The model the company  personnel recommended is working well and serves my needs. i would also like to note that an extra- length (non-standard) drain hose was required; JE installed this at no extra charge.

We looked at two appliance stores, Jenkintown Electric and Gerhard's in Glenside, when shopping for all new appliances for a kitchen remodel.  I am so happy we chose Jenkintown Electric.  The store doesn't have a fancy showroom and they don't feed you snacks and whatnot, but they know their business and they know appliances.   More importantly the service was outstanding!!!!  We had a problem with one cabinet opening being the wrong size and had to switch and purchase a new microwave to fit the space 2 days before they were to deliver the appliances.  It was not a problem.  We called Mike at Jenkintown Elec, told him the issue and what we needed.  He found a new microwave had it in stock  and it was delivered with the other appliances.   The delivery guys were professional and respectful coming into our home.   I would recommend Jenkintown Electric hands down over other stores. 

They are a good company to deal with. They have good price and are knowledgeable. There is no high pressure sale. I could ask questions, they had the knowledge and if they did not have the knowledge  they knew where to get it. I was very satisfied with the trip. They are just about on par with Home Depot and things like that, on price, but with more personalized service. When I call for repairs, the guys are always right there and on time.

The gentleman who came out was very polite and did an excellent job.  He went out of his way to make sure that I was satisfied.

I called Jenkintown Electric for repair of my clothes dryer (gas). They were very nice as usual, but were unsure as to what was wrong. So they replaced a small, inexpensive part and hoped that it would fix the problem. It didn't. I had to call an authorized Maytag repair company, who fixed the problem in 5 minutes.

Replaced parts (bearings, front support).

The experience was outstanding. I will not use anyone else.

Jenkintown Electric was great every step of the way.  The salesperson, Mike, was knowledgeable and respectful of our budget constraints.  He helped us make good choices for us.  When our contractor, who was supposed to take over the process after we chose appliances, failed to get in touch with them, JE called us to see if everything was all right - we were then able to push him and make sure the appliances were ordered on time.  They also helped us in obtaining rebates.  Some people think you can get better prices shopping in huge stores or looking online, but with appliances there are so many models with just slight differences that I think it was worth it to go with JE and let them make sure we were getting the specific appliance with the specific features we wanted.  After the installation, when we had two problems, JE was right on top of it.  Once they got us a new shelf for our fridge (the other one had cracked) and the other time they came out to the house even though it was really just a stupid misunderstanding on my part - i managed to leave the freezer door open and get ice stuck in the rubber gasket.  Even though it was completely my fault and i was ridiculous for not being able to figure it out, though, JE came right out and did not make me feel bad about it.  They were great and I would recommend them to anyone.  Quick update - I've been having a problem with the door shelves in my fridge and, past the warranty's expiration, needed a new shelf.  I called Frigidaire and they claimed that the problem was "cosmetic" (since apparently one does not actually need a place to store MILK in a fridge), but talked to Jenkintown Electric and Luke got me a new shelf.  They are AWESOME.

I have used their services for about 10 years.  They are really reasonably priced, come when they say they are going to come and are always there within 24 hours. They do an excellent job and they stand behind their work. I have recommened their services to at least ten friends and they have all been satisfied.

They came as an emergency because my daughter had locked herself in her bedroom, an 18 month old at the time and they got her out real fast. They had to drill through the lock to get her out. It was great and they got her out. They were very fast and proactive. They came out within a half hour of my call because it was an emergency. It was reasonable and I wanted somebody to come out and get her out.

My connecting plumbing was leaking. They came out and repaired the unit and the plumbing. They are very nice people and offer good service. It I ever need appliance service again, I will be hiring Jenkintwon Electric for the job.

I had ordered a washer and dryer from another company, a well known major retailer.. On two occassions the wrong appliances were delivered, which I refused to accept. I was very frustrated when a friend recommended Jenkintown Electric. The same appliances were available and actually cost less than through the major retailer. Jenkintown electric staff were wonderful. I had next day delivery by their own people (as opposed to large warehouse delivery personnel) who called to confirm arrival time. They were professional and friendly, answered all my questions and concerns. This was a win, win situation for me. very satisfied. I will definitely use them again and have recommended them to others.

I called Monday morning at 10AM, they were here and the repair completed by 11AM!

They always do a good job taking care of the things I need done and come out usually within the same day or next day after the part comes in.

I called on 11/8 and was able to schedule an appointment on 11/10. I was told the repair person would come between 1:00-4:00 p.m. He called first and arrived at 1:10. He asked me questions to make sure I was setting the machine for the appropriate size load. He also wanted to make sure the machine wasn't still under warranty before he charged me. I was very satisfied with the work he did.

Normally I would do this type of thing myself, but there was only one visible screw to remove, and I was hesitant to pop off the inside door pieces for fear I would compromise the door. The technician was pleasant and helpful. The ordered part arrived in 2 days and was installed the same day. The installation took all of 3 minutes. Considering we've been long-standing customers (6 appliances in 9 years) and the job was so simple, I resent the exorbitant service fee. I will definitely shop around next time.
