Mach 1 Painting

DO NOT hire this man he is a con artist. Last April we signed a contract with him to paint the exterior of our house and gave him a down payment of more than $1,200. He strung us along for MONTHS saying "we were next in line" then "sorry I can't come my car broke down" then "sorry I can't come my power washer broke" etc... and at least 3 times scheduled to come and just simply did not show up only calling us afterward. By September he had still not painted a single thing and because the weather was getting colder we were forced to hire someone else to do the job. When we contacted him for a refund he refused saying we were being charged for "storage" which doesn't even make sense since he's a painter and we told him if he had to paint to just bring it to our house. We finally tried to have our legal consultant contact him and turns out the address is fake. I repeat DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN THIS IS NOT A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS!

You never know when Joe is coming, he tells you you are second on his list and you hear nothing for weeks then he takes half the cost up front and again disappears for weeks. The overall job was not what we expected. There was paint on most of our screens and windows and more brush strokes then you can count. I asked him to come back for some improvements and again weeks went by. I finished the job myself and will never deal with him again.

We had a terrible experience with Joseph Kleinhenz of Mach 1 this Summer. He gave us a quote for removal of wallpaper and painting on Aug 9th & asked for half upfront in cash to hold our start date of Aug 28th. We asked for a receipt when giving our cash as well as a copy of the contract and he promised to mail it. Then he disappeared without responding to texts or calls for weeks and the receipt never arrived. Even though he was due to start on Aug 28th, he didn't show up until Sept 1st. He kept attempting to add things to the cost as he worked and we refused them. His habit was to do the work then state "that's going to cost you an extra $400". On Sept 6th, he told us he was going to need another $1080 in cash by Friday even though our contract stated half upfront and the second payment at the end. He explained that this was for the additional work he did - work that we didn't ask or authorize him to do. I don't believe most reputable businesses operate in only cash so this was absolutely a red flag. We refused to pay the cash and after speaking to our attorney, decided to cut our losses and terminate the contract because his practices were so shady. At this point, we still haven't received a copy of the contract and receipt. We also never received the paint or primer that were supposedly bought with the upfront money. He did not paint anything in the house, only removed wallpaper (which he had stated was difficult to remove but my husband did an area he said was "really bad" and would cost extra in a very short amount of time). We are very upset with the way he handled himself both before, during and especially after the job as he was both threatening and verbally abusive while picking up his tools from us. You may be fooled into thinking his low quote is awesome but buyer beware. He will do everything in his power to get more cash.
