Buyers & Sellers Beware! An agent with this company, Joe Kandala, along with his client, the seller, knew about a termite infestation but failed/refused to disclose it. Prior to our offer on the house, a previous, potential buyer had a home and wood destroying insect (WDI) inspection done that reported a serious infestation and recommendation for treatment. The seller refused to give this potential buyer any consideration for remediation and the offer was withdrawn. When our buyer's agent asked Kandala to provide the previous reports for our review, he stated that the client refused because of errors in the reports. Complicating matters, our Housemasters home inspector totally missed the infestation and we purchased the home without knowing about it. Now the seller and Kandala are pointing the finger at each other instead of accepting responsibility for their actions. If there was an option for a negative star rating, I would certainly have chosen it. Giving Kandala and #1 Choice Real Estate even one star is too much. Even as a seller, working with an agent like Kandala who is willing to help you withhold information you are legally responsible to disclose and an agency that supports him, would be not be in your best interests in the long run.
