Got a good auto and home policy at a great price. They do all the leg work and set up the payments

I have done business with Duncan for almost 22 years in my business and for around 24 years personally. In that time I am quite sure we have spent upwards of a half million dollars on just insurance services alone. Dave and John Duncan have done outstanding work for both my business and personal insurance and investment needs. On the personal lines side I have worked with Lisa Brown, a CSR that does outstanding work. On the business side I have also worked with Mary Rodman who has always been very responsive. Having just joined Angie's List, I am looking up all of our vendors. I read one other review on here for The Duncan Financial Group and it was rather scathing. I can assure you that after almost 22 years working with this company that this type of experience is not the norm.

When requesting quotes I experience the most inappropriate and inept customer service I have ever received. I was working with one of the producers and was moved to a retention specialist.. On several occasions I caught the individuals providing false information. . The first individual (Terry Mardell) I dealt with was impossible to reach via phone or email - furthermore he would not keep his word on deadline. He would tell me he would have something on Monday - I would contact him and I would not hear from him until Friday or the following week. this individual ran insurance quotes without having proper information, refused to run more than one insurance company quotes before he became unwilling to cooperate, refused to follow through on particular requests for coverage - saying they were not needed. Yet on the limits his limits would have left me 1000s in the hole if something would occur. The retention specialist *Kathy Bacha) I dealt with was asked to attempt to smooth over the situation before they lost a client. She sent me several quotes and provided information to me regarding how "she thought " i needed to do things. Not doing what was asked of her. I requested her to match my current policy exactly - including deductibles and limits. She flat out told me that i could not get that from a particular insurer - when I called the company directly I was not only able to get that deductible but a lower one at nearly the same price. This individual also sent me an email stating "I am trying to obtain all the information that I need to properly quote your account. All I have are notes and prior coverage's. I am not clear on a number of issues and I am just guessing at this point. " This was sent after I sent her the following : Explain why I cannot get a $50 deductable with travelers through Duncan? I can get that deductable online with Travelers I have a quote from them. • I have a vanishing deductible with Erie. I actually thought it was a $0 deductable this year - I guess it will be there next year with Erie. • Additionally, what is the towing service? I have asked Erie to remove the road side coverage multiple times if this is the same I have no desire to have it. • Accident forgiveness in 4 years is this a joke? I had it in 1 year with Erie • Why is travelers adding such a surcharge to the homeowners? That is insane - Erie didn’t raise my rate at all for my homeowners. • Explain why only $5000 for the jewelry? They damaged the individuals reputation who recommended me to this company - in fact I was recommended by one of their current employees. The company did not inform me that they would run my credit - which they did with out my consent. If I would have known I would NOT have granted permission and would have walked away. I had the operations manager (Kimberly Wilson) contact me - all that she could do is appologize and make exxcuses. She could not provide any answers or solutions to the issues that were brought up.
