Aunt Penny is a Nationally Certified Professional Dog Trainer , Humane Educator and National Speaker with 20 plus years of experience. She is the ONLY licensed Family Paws Parent Educator within 5 hours of Pittsburgh Pa. She is committed to providing the most effective, convenient force-free solutions for clients' dog training needs, expectant families challenges with transitioning a new baby into their house with a dog, as well as supporting shelters, rescues and vet staff with proper education to help keep dogs out of shelters and in their forever homes. Although no longer offering in your home pet sitting she still offers Fur- Heaven , which is private, luxury boarding in her home for ONE family's dogs at a time. Penny and her husband reside in Irwin Pa. When not educating humans about canines , Penny enjoys her husband, children , grandchildren , and being owned by 9 dogs, 2 goats and 3 fish.

Penny is the best dog trainer I've ever worked with and I've worked with several over the years of owning many dogs. She is a super professional and really understands dog training, from a human and dog point of view. Her force free methods are certainly good. I have also attended several of her free seminars and recommended them to friends and our vet. Thru her I've learned more than I ever had hoped to know about dogs, their body language, and their actions. She is not inexpensive but you certainly get more than you paid for and her knowledge is top notch. If I have a question she's available with an answer or guidance. There is no doubt in my mind I will be using her services in the future with our current dog and any future dogs. Her methods are all based on positive training without the harsh old style forcible methods. They make the dog want to learn and the owner want to work with their dog.

Our consults are quoted by case difficulty and if the dog has been aggressive with humans. In this case Chance did have 3 bites to humans on the questionnaire therefore putting him in the higher end consult as we had two trainers there as well. The good news is he will do well in the reactive dog class and you can take advantage of the special we run for reactive dog students only :) Your investment will prove to be worth it :) We look forward to helping you with Chance even more!"

Sitter came for a meet and greet a week before. Was great with the dogs and asked for pertinent info in case of emergency. Sitter came to the house to feed and let our 2 dogs outside, twice on a Saturday and once Sunday morning while we were away. She sent a text on second visit to let us know all went well. We are very pleased with the service, the professionalism and the price. We highly recommend and will definitely use again

Penny provided us with two home sessions when Maddy was a puppy. We have two kids. She comes with excellent credintials and that is very apparent in her ability to work with animals. She is filled with wisdom, easy to understand, honest about issues with your pet, and very thorough.
Penny was great with our kids. She was very careful to explain and repeat everything. She charged us for an hour, but she actually stayed almost 2 hours to be sure we understood everything. She is quickly responsive with email, typically within 12-24 hours. She asks lots of questions to get to the bottom of your issue.
We also took our dog to two obedience classes with Penny, which were just as helpful, if not more.
Most importantly though, Penny was there for us when things started to get really rough. Maddy bit someone in August. We were on vacation and had our dog with us and many family members, and I didn't know what to do. I called Penny. She actually got back to me within a few hours and helped us work through it. She was AWESOME. Once we returned home, she helped us via email and phone many times and then came out for another home session, as she had in the past. She was just as professional and exceeded my expectations. She spent 2 hours with us, helping us with re-training Maddy to deal with the anxiety. She even had me bring our dog to her house to observe her interacting with her 7 dogs, which helped tremendously with the diagnosis of anxiety.
After those interactions, she recommended Prozac for our puppy. With the other suggestions and the medication, after 3 1/2 weeks, I feel like we have a new dog. She is clearly more happy, able to enjoy company, able to play with other dogs. She still has some trouble with strangers outside of the home, but I know she will continue to improve. I know in my heart that if it weren't for Penny, we would have needed to place our dog with a different family as things surely would have gotten worse.
I love our veternarian, but I must say, Penny has provided us with far more help in the area of behavioral issues, than I believe most veterenarians would be able to impart.

Outstanding! Jen was wonderful!! Text messages (and often pictures) after every visit. She gave our dog ICE WATER on really hot days. Couldn't ask for more!!!!

From the moment I contacted them they were very responsive. I loved their online registration system as well. The pet sitter Jen, was fantastic. She came to meet the kitties before our vacation. And while on vacation she sent me txt messages and photos of my girls. It was fantastic. I would and will recommend them to anyone who wants to know their pets are WELL cared for while they are away.

Aunt Penny is very professional, informative, and fun to boot! I am a member of a local greyhound rescue, education group which helps owners of other dogs, too. She arrived on time and was set up in a flash! Her presentation was both infomative as well as entertaining. I have had dogs my whole life but learned so much! This seminar as well as the one on Agressive dog behavior are a must for ALL dog owners. Especially if you are out in the world encountering other dogs. She taught us how to keep ourselves as well as our dogs safe. Aunt Penny also taught us some ways to stop an attack on our dog or ourselves.
If everyone that had a dog took these seminars,there would be no more new stories about dog maulings, etc. Kudos to Aunt Penny!!

I contacted Aunt Penny's Pet Sitting due to another pet sitting company canceling my reservation. They were able to accommodate mine and my pets needs. They set me up with a FREE meet and greet so that I was able to meet the sitter, introduce her to my pets and to show her around my house. The pet sitter was very friendly, professional, on time and Sparky really took to her. She was familiar with how to administer the insulin to Sparky. I was very pleased to learn that she was certified in pet first aid and CPR. I received a text 3 times each day when the pet sitter would leave my home. I came to find my pets were fed at around 7am each morning and Sparky was given his insulin with no difficulty, Sparky was walked at 1pm each day and then received his evening insulin at 7pm and both pets were fed their second meal. Upon my return I found that Kiki's litter box was cleaner than I have even left it and the waste was disposed of properly. My neighbor reported to me that the pet sitter arrived at a timely manner everyday and took Sparky for his full half hour walk and Sparky was always wagging his tail. My neighbor said the pet sitter even said Hello but wouldn't give any information on where I was or when I would return. I found that to be reassuring and secure in using their services. I will recommend them and use them in the future for all my pet needs.

The girl I use, Kelly, is very good. You can trust any of them in your home and they really love the animals. Three of their employees are vet techs and all of them are certified in pet first aid. They are gentle and loving and if your pet needs their nails trimmed or brushed they'll take care of that as well.
