Don Huey Custom Bldg & Remodeling

The line was installed but they won't come back and repair my yard as per the agreement. And they were paid in full while the soil was left to settle. I have now contacted them numerous times and all I get is just lip service. It's been more than five weeks now and my yard looks like a strip mine. I have filed complaints with the BBB. My advice to anyone considering this company is to run the other way as quickly as possible.

Late getting started, took over four months to complete. Had to withhold last payment to get hem to finish.
They offer low price but don't follow the specs.

The crew was very nice but they smoked a lot and threw their cigarette butts in my yard in the snow. So I had to clean that up in March when it started to get nice out. They would show up on time most days but seemed to not be prepared to do work on the first couple of days. The worst part about the Don Huey is that they are 10-20 year behind in modern design and construction. They have no idea what is modern they seemed to be trapped in the 1990s with how they design and propose designs and estimates to potential customers.

The only way I would use Don Huey again is if they gave a significantly cheaper price than other contractors but I would be very specific about how I would things and how they can described in the estimate.

Be careful when dealing with them, read the estimate and scope of work and make sure everything is spelled out or they won't do it. Even if it seems obvious that it is something that should be included in the work make sure it is in the scope otherwise they won't do it.

Don Huey claims he is insured, and he is. But after damaging my pool and yard he has not returned my phone calls. I have tried numerous times. His secretary was very rude. I would not recommend his services to anyone. He does not stand by his word.

I contacted Mr. Huey 6 times and was told by his secretary
That he was aware. Mr. Huey has never contacted me. The damage was estimated at $9,000. Mr Hueys employees

Some type of grass killer. I have pictures. I was not at home and was not notified
Until my pool started falling it. I am very upset. Don Huey has never called me back.

The team that has been working here have been great.  They are all very professional and courteous.  Their attitude is that the customer gets what he/she wants no matter what that means the contractors have to do to make it happen.  They were also the least expensive bid we received of the five or six we requested.  They were one of two contractors who sent us a written estimate.  They are very responsive to any questions or concerns we have.

Lots of complaining, lots of bad comments on the president . Work was decent but took longer then they said it would take.

We didn't end up doing the job due to another project that was much more pressing.  We would use Don Hue, as we believe they would do good job at a good price but knowing that they may not get back to us as fast as we are used to when dealing with smaller contractors.

I worked for my father who was a contractor for a number of years and know how to do most of the work that Don Huey does for me, but the reason I hire them is that I really cannot do the work myself for less than they can do it so it makes sense to have them do it. Their estimates are always lower than others, and they do very nice work.  The aluminum work they did on my front porch was as good as I have ever seen, the siding they put on my house was applied very neatly, the shingles are on nice and straight, the plaster work they did inside my house is beautiful.  All the little details that other contractors ignore, these guys pay attention to.  I had a small leak develop along my chimney after the new roof went on, Don had men over here fixing it for free without delay.
