The weather was a challenge. We were not able to start the project until the weather cleared. But. that was not J &L Roofing's fault. J&L Roofing updated me weekly on the schedule and when they thought they were going to start my project. The got the project done in a little over a day. They probably could have completed the job in one day if it was spring or summer when there was more daylight hours. The roof looks great, there are no leaks (which sometimes happens with a new roof), and I have peace of mind now and don't have to worry about the latest leak in my previous 20+ year old roof.

They were great! On time, kept the property clean. Did the job in about one day. A few minor things popped up which they handled quickly and without any problem within a few days of the job being done. They were very responsive and great customer service.

Project went well. Only complaint is that the sawdust from the cutting through the roof was left in the attic. Everything outside was swept. I only noticed the sawdust 2-3 weeks at to-work was completed. Would have rated straight A's if the inside was swept.

J&L were responsive, thorough, knowledgeable, and fair. Roger was able to meet me on several occasions to evaluate the scope of work, review the process, bring samples, and take measurements. I was very pleased with this company and most importantly, the work they did was of high quality and you could tell they cared about the final product. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them if/when my roof needs replacement.

During the quotation process in January, the JL ROOFING salesman(James Clark)Made numerous visits to measure and inspect the existing rood and attic. He thoroughly explained the choices of material to be used in the re-roofing process. He came up with a quote that was revised several times at my request to add and/or delete new items. The final contract was signed in January with the understanding that work would start in the spring(April).
The target date for starting was set with the project manager(Mauricio Monge) as April 4 but bad weather was forecast, so the actual start was April 5,2016. A crew of eight men arrived at 7:30 AM and proceeded to strip old shingles and collect debris in a portable, hydraulic lift bin raised to roof height. Old thin plywood was also removed and replaced with mew 1/2 inch decking plywood (not OSB strandboard). Access openings were left and used by two workmen to blow in insulation into the attic with a 6" hose from an insulation truck parked at the street.
The eight men seemed to work in teams of two each under the supervision of the foreman (Mr. Keyler). They were stripping shingles and plywood, replacing plywood, applying insulation and installing underlayment of various types simultaneously yet very efficiently. While i could not see everything being done myself, neighbors later remarked that the work proceeded so smoothly and quickly, and without"breaks". Fully 3/4 of the (split level)two roofs were reshingled by quitting time at 8PM.
On day2,April 6,a crew of six arrived at 8AM and began to install the two new Velux skylights and flashing. The rest of the day was spent on details such as flashing of roof penetrations, installing chimney crickets and capping the ridge vents. Last to be done was the removal of old gutters and the extrusion of 5 new gutters(some 40 feet long)using a special gutter extrusion truck parked streetside. Gutters and downspouts were then mounted.
This day ended at 8PM with an inspection tour of the completed job by the foreman and myself, making final adjustments until everything was mutually satisfactory. I was very impressed with the quality and efficiency of the work performed by JL ROOFING and i would recommend them to anyone. My new roof looks great!
