This was a difficult job requiring getting a tall crane down a narrow curved inclined driveway; the trees were fairly close to the house and had to be removed because they were contributing to failure of a retaining wall. They did a fantastic job, no mess, ended up charging less than the estimate because the job went quicker than expected. The arborist Erik Rogers clearly knows his stuff and his crew were well organized and efficient. I will use them in the future for any tree work.

This was a huge job. The Oak tree was close to 6 feet in diameter and when it came down it landed on our car, the fence, the neighbors carriage house and managed to take out a couple of other trees. Because it was leaning on so many structures, it was a complicated extraction where the team had to be very careful that they took out the limbs of the tree. A wrong move could have been disastrous. We've had other trees removed that cost less than $1000 but we knew this was going to be an expensive proposition because of the size and the complexity. A less experienced team wouldn't have been able to do it. I jokingly referred to one of the team as Baryshnikov on a tree because of the way he was able to be suspended in the air on a sling attached to the crane, and move from limb to limb so gracefully. Sorry Dan, I know they're going to give you a rough time now. It really was awe inspiring to watch how the two Dan's and Matt worked together. When they were finished they cleaned up the yard. This is a professional team who are great to work with. From Rob who came out and saw the damage and started the process, to the team who worked together to clean up our yard, I couldn't ask for a better outcome of a sad situation. We'll be bringing them back to plant the tree to replace our beautiful old Oak.

The Giroud folks called the day ahead and showed up promptly as promised. Rick and two other workers were polite, professional and industrious. They went about their work efficiently and completed the job competently in spite of the nasty drizzle. Rick made sure to check to see that I was satisfied. I was impressed with his professionalism and friendliness.

Work completed on time, at the agreed on, reasonable price. Excellent job with thorough clean up. Would highly recommend.

We've worked with them three different times. We liked the fact that we were assigned to an arborist who comes out and looks at our property and gives us an estimate. The work is always done promptly and very professionally. They are really good.

Fast forward to the present, 2017. I was searching Angie's list for a different provider and Giroud tree service popped up. Still feeling unhappy with how things turned out I gave them a poor review. Jeff Giroud contacted me by phone and also by mail apologizing and wanting to compensate us in some way for the lost Koi. When I spoke to him over the phone he was very apologetic and offered to compensate us for our loss. It's really nice to know that even though it's been several years since the mishap this company is willing to correct a mistake. I would also like to comment on the treatment that Giroud Tree service applied to our trees. It did correct the problem we were having.

They provided all work as described in my estimate. All debris was removed and the area was raked and cleaned as promised.

Excellent. They had to go into a neighbor's yard to finish the work and did so after asking and getting permission.

They did an excellent price. Their price was cheaper than everybody else’s that I checked with. They did an excellent job. I would use them again. They were very responsive. They did a nice job and for cheap too. Other places would charge almost double sometimes. I had them come out, they gave me an estimate and maybe a week after, they did the job. They were real busy through the summer.

It went ok. This will be the second year we'll see how it goes after some adjustments were made.

Indeed, if anything I was difficult to track down and they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the work they had done. I will definitely use them again and recommend them enthusiastically.

We called Giroud and scheduled an appointment to meet with Dave Nagy, one of the arborists working for the company.  When Dave arrived, he was attentive to my concerns about the safety of the large trees in my yard.  I was concerned with the heavy winds and storms we received, these giant, lovely specimens would come down endangering our neighbourhood.  Dave walked through the yard with me and talked about what he saw professionally and where our needs were.  Good News: no large trees needed to come down.  After receiving two other quotes (none prepared as nicely and clearly as Girouds), I called Giroud back, talked with their friendly office and scheduled the job. 

This morning Dave arrived with the crew (a truck and a wood chipper) to walk with me and the crew through the yard to confirm what was to be done and set to work.  It wasn't long before the team of three, lead by Billy were up in the trees and significantly trimming up/lightening the crowns of the large, older maples.  Within a couple hours, they had made their way to the large maple and two professionals were up in the maple needing to be cabled.  A "squirrel hollow" (my term) was filled and capped.

• Our old dead dogwood was removed without damage to the landscaping around it.
• Our remaining dogwood was trimmed up to extend it's life (it looks fantastic)
• The giant Azalea was trimmed up neatly in the front yard.
• Billy did an EXPERT job trimming up an Asian Honeysuckle bush in the backyard, opening up so much space and in a fashion that will allow us to use the backyard a great deal more.
• 2 large tall firs were cleaned up, top to bottom.
• A giant hemlock was cleaned up.
• The entire yard was cleaned up, the crew using rakes, leafblowers and hauling away all debris.
• No damage was left behind.

Very positive things to say here about the three-person Crew:

• Confident in their professionalism
• They were very friendly and communicated clearly to ensure we were all on the same page
• I noticed they were very attentive to safety and all their gear was well maintained.
• They were careful to clean everything up, and careful with our existing landscaping.
• They were attentive to how the trimming done would look.

I was happy to accept a Giroud sign for my yard and happy to recommend them to friends and neighbours.  I will bring them back again for future preventative and maintenance tree care and have asked them back to fertilize the trees.
