Ordered me a new drive, it took a while for it to come but it was installed and works fine

I am using Windows XP (don't ask why, it's a long story). When my desktop failed to boot, I called Tony, who came to my house to evaluate the problem. He examined the computer and showed me where some of the capitors on the motherboard were well worn (overheated) and could be the problem. While my data was backed up externally, my biggest concern was saving the software that was on my hard drive. While Tony suggested a refurbished Windows 7 machine that he had, I was nervous about reinstalling all the software under windows 7. He found a refurbished version of my machine (Dell Dimension E510) with what appeared to be a new motherboard running Windows XP. He was able to transfer my hard drive and CD drives to the new machine and I am back in business. He also did a cleanup of the hard drive, eliminating some malware and the performance is better than before. While he was working on my desktop, we spoke about a laptop I purchased with Windows 8.1 and that I was very dissatisfied with that version of Windows. He agreed and said most people were very dissatisfied. Evidently, retail stores cannot sell Windows 7 and even though they said there was no difference between the 2 operating systems (7 and 8.1), THERE IS. He was abe to install Windows 7 Pro with an XP emulator on my laptop and I have now migrated my programs (including Lotus 1-2-3 and work related software) that did not work under Windows 8.1. I could not have asked for a better or faster job from Tony. I would use him again and highly recommend him.

Tthe owner, Tony, knew what was wrong with this Dell lap top by simply listening to the symptoms I provided him. he repaired the unit and got it back to me in less time than expected and at a very fair cost. this is a small store, and quot;one man bandand quot;, but Tony is very competent. his costs are much less than much larger computer repair stores. I've already recommended this store to friends.
