We expected this to be a quick and perfunctory process prior to buying the home in question. The team arrived on time, with some previous knowledge of the property (thankfully!). The system was complicated as this property was over 300 years old. The inspection quickly became more complicated and the inspectors went above and beyond to track down the "story behind the story". They called office HQ to get a full history on the property and previous maintenance, used a periscope camera and spent considerable time finding all of the "necessary pieces" to this complicated story. In the end, the system failed inspection and the inspector spent almost an hour explaining the history, present situation, owner liability and next possible steps to me. He saved us $40k (!), months of headaches and potentially being taken advantage of by a seller who did not disclose some serious issues with the property.
