Sam Van Horn Electrical is a first rate company and did an excellent job.

Sam came out and gave me an estimate, then his crew (sons) came out to do the work. They were accurate in their estimate and they did a fast and professional job in all cases. The outside light that needed to be moved was done correctly. All inside projects were also done with no touch-up needed to ceilings of kitchen or office.

One person came out to do the work, and it was fine.

I appreciate that they have always been able to accommodate my schedule, are punctual, and perform quality work. They've never left a mess like another local electrician did when that electrician had to cut out drywall in order to snake a wire through wall studs. | |Sam Van Horn Electrical is a family business and they appear to be a family that cares.

I had installed some hanging fluorescent lights in my basement and there was arcing occurring between the chains and the furnace duct work after I plugged them in. Sam showed up at the scheduled time and got right to work, immediately diagnosing the problem. He promptly corrected what was wrong. While he worked, he amicably answered the many questions I had about the problem. He also made sure it was simply a localized and not a whole house problem. The entire process lasted less than an hour. I have used Sam in the past and will definitely call him in the future for any electrical needs I might have. In addition to the quality of his work, I cannot say enough about the professionalism, courtesy and easy-going attitude he has displayed each time he has done work for me. Good help is not easy to find but I know I have at least found a trustworthy and competent electrician in Sam Van Horn.

Very prompt service. Arrived right on time and quickly accomplished the work. Additionally, provided prompt and fair estimates on additional projects that we are considering in our home.

Sam Sr. came out to my home and was thorough in his assessment of what needed to be done. He gave me the best price of 3 different electricians I had give me estimates. On the day scheduled for the work, one of his sons (Sam Jr.) arrived on time and began work. He gave me fair warning when he needed to turn off the power to my home, and was very patient with me while I finished up working on my computer before he turned off my power. Apparently, the work was more complicated than he'd anticipated, and the whole job took about 5 hours. He did not charge me more for the extra time. He was even kind enough to cap a few open wires, not related to the upgrade job. However, he did leave quite a bit of debris on the ground outside, which could have destroyed my lawn mower blade, had I not seen and cleaned it up myself. Still, I was very happy with his work.
The only thing that was a difficulty was obtaining the permit from my Borough for the upgrade work. Sam Sr. said he tried to contact the zoning officer to gain the permit and did not get an answer. I called the zoning officer myself, and was told the cost and procedure, which I forwarded to Sam Sr. On the day of service, I specifically asked Sam Jr when he arrived if the permit had been obtained and he said and quot;yes.and quot; However, the cost for the permit was not included in my invoice and I was told by Sam Sr. that the permit was never obtained.

Our street suffered an extreme power surge after an accident. I called Sam and he and his two sons arrived within thirty-five minutes. They worked with their underwriter and PECO to resolve the issues in my house as well as my neighbors. They had to go through each and every outlet, including checking appliances due to the extreme surge. The entire time they were extremely professional, conscious of the two small children at home and responsded to my questions. In fact, Sam provided invaluable help in dealing with the whole ordeal, including staying late on Friday night. This was the first time meeting Sam or his sons, but I have since used them and happy with their work.

They are always reasonaby priced and prompt. They do a good job. They clean up. I have never had a problem with them. I have been using them for about 3 years.

Sam and his sons showed up right on time and reviewed with me what I wanted done before starting their work. They were quick and efficient and when they were done Sam reviewed with me again the work that had been completed which was everything I wanted to get done. I wrote him his check and he was off to another job. It was a very pleasant experience. if I have any other electrical work that needs to be done I will hire Sam again for sure.

So far so good, they have been doing good work. They are very competitively priced. They are punctual. They are good problem solvers, very creative.

The work was performed in June 2006. I have emailed, left messages, and spoken to Sam Van Horn about moving the lights. He keeps telling me that he will come but in 3 months he has made no move to resolve this issue.
