Quality and Dishonesty Issues Our company had major issues with Staub Contractors Inc. The job was for an 8,000 square foot industrial warehouse roof to be started in August of 2018. Staub Contractors estimate was $60,000 and comparable with other local companies. To our unknowing Staub decided to keep pushing off the job after we had given them a $20,000 nonrefundable deposit. After 4 months of constant calls they told us we needed to provide them with an additional $6,000 for a township code permit in order to start the job now, in December of 2018. This permit was not discussed prior to or included in the original estimate. It appears they left out this permit cost for leverage to give us a lower initial estimate to secure the contract. Starting this job into the middle of winter with the snow caused bad leaks with significant damage to our merchandise, the floors, and inside ceilings. Unfortunately, after this job was said to be completed, we had to call them back over 5 times for more leaks throughout the warehouse. After this job was finished, we had to pay another contractor to replace a leaking vent that should have been done by Staub. The leaking vent is in addition to the ceiling and floors that were further damaged and needed replacement. Staub Contractors Inc provided a poor-quality job while being dishonest about the cost and additional permits said to be required.

After Staub replaced our roof 3 years ago, we had numerous leaks into the house causing a lot of damage . Once we reported it, Bernie Staub came multiple times and his crew did something, but the roof was leaking again and again after rain in the family room and in the garage. After that Bernie Staub said, that the problem is the vent and not a roof. Vent should be replaced with the cost of $400 and the leaking problem will be resolved. We invited a certified roofing company for the inspection and they said that, the vent is perfectly fine and not the problem. Per the inspection report, Staub crew threw a cheap coating over the nails on the roof, they DIDN'T INSTALL THE NEW APPROPRIATE SIZED FLASHINGS WE PAID FOR AND LEFT PLASTERED SILICONE ALL OVER THE PLACE. The job was sloppy. I have pictures of the unprofessional poor job this company did. Called them up again, the owner Bernie Staub came and promised he will send his repair guys to fix flashing. We were waiting more than 4 months before we went through the court system and Staub refused to get a registered letter from the court. I would say stay away from this dishonest business.
