I am a former client of BCTC, Sean Tracy built my house several years ago but it remains unfinished. Not only did they neglect to finish the project but much of the work was done by shotty subcontractors and had to be redone. I had assumed he went out of business since the phone number I had for his office was disconnected. His clients aren't the only ones negatively affected, he owes many many sub-contractors in our community tens of thousands of dollars (see lawsuits on the PA civil suit website). We were smart enough to get lien releases from the subs, thank god so I can't be sued. I've been living in an unfinished house for 2 years, having already paid for the items that haven't been finished yet. He threatened to hold/not complete items for our U&O unless we gave him money we didn't owe him yet. I can't afford to pay someone else to finish all the things he never finished. We still have all the outside trim to be caulked and painted. Some of the deck was supposed to be replaced and part of it was never stained. The tiles in our master bathroom shower were installed in two different patterns due to the tile installers lack of intelligence (most of the shower is in a brick pattern and one corner is in a regular grid), that needs to be ripped out and corrected. The walls are a mess, areas look like they put the joint compound on with their hands and never used a trowel. Also, the men that taped and compounded the walls were smoking in the house and my sons room still smells like smoke when it rains. The walls obviously weren't sanded well before the painters came in. The painters were a nightmare...absolute nightmare. More than I can even write. There is probably more paint on my floors than on the walls. The trim in the bathrooms has yet to be caulked and painted. Never EVER let the builder's hold go before they are completely done and ALWAYS hold back 10%!!!! Even when the builder calls you and says he can't make payroll unless you give him money. Then of course is the extensive list of small claims judgments against the company. DO your research!!!! I really wish I had!
