This experience did not go as planned. The installer was rude and disrespectful of our home and belongings. He did not finish the hardwood flooring properly and we are left with no thresholds and there is a bulge in the flooring. He refused to come back and finished and fix the problems.
Description of Work: Weiss Flooring was hired to install a hardwood floor in the hallway connecting our bedroom and bathroom, as part of a larger bathroom remodeling project. The installer showed complete disregard for our home and property, by strewing his tools and piling materials and trash all around our bedroom, even though it was supposed to be off-limits during the renovation, and he made no attempt to protect the carpet and furniture. He installed boards with noticeable imperfections and holes even though we asked him to be careful about the appearance of the boards he used (by installing poorer quality boards in the two closets that were included in the project) and there was plenty of material available. He could easily have used boards without imperfections if he had been more careful in his selection of the flooring installed. He also failed to properly install thresholds/reducers where the flooring met other surfaces, resulting in unsafe and unsightly conditions in our bedroom. When we first saw what he was doing toward the completion of the job, and expressed our dissatisfaction about his conduct and workmanship, he became angry and left the job without completing the installation or cleaning up. As a result the flooring still has defects and is unsightly. Ideally, the installer would return and replace/repair the entire flooring project (about 100 square feet). However, since this seems highly unlikely we want other consumers to know about our experience with this contractor.
