They came when scheduled for the quote-- deposit up front to start-did the work-- expected to be paid the balance promptly when done...which I was glad to do-- the work was great-- knows the codes for the area so work is done correctly the 1st time---no problems with code enforcement inspection-- had to dig out and remove old sidewalk and curb--then dig out and form up and re-pour new curbing before pouring the sidewalk -- uses more material -- 5 inches of gravel vs 4 inches of gravel as a base and 5 inches of concrete vs 4 inches of concrete that the other quotes had--

Hellertown requires a sidewalk inspection before home sale. My seller needed both a couple of panels replaced AND an ADA ramp added. Both jobs were done beautifully and on time as promised. He is easy to communicate with, especially by phone and text. Unfortunately my seller died during the sale process and Gary did everything he could to work with me and the Estate to ensure the inspection went well and got approval in time for settlement. He was a bright light in a very sad process. Thank you, Gary!

Gary is a true professional communication was easy and he did our sidewalk and retain wall exactly as we wanted. Reviews are great but to see the actual work is better please feel free to drive by and see the walks and wall for yourself. 115 Kichline Ave Hellertown PA. We will be hiring Gary again for projects that we have planned for our new house

Actual Work Perfomed:
Replaced 70ft x 7 ft of sidewalks and curbing along a PennDOT-owned road in Slatington, PA.
After much back and forth between Gary and PennDOT, A monolithic curb and sidewalk pour was not ultimately permitted by PennDOT in this case.
As a result the asphalt (on road) had to be cut, and a pour for the curbs had to be done separately from the sidewalks, with several days in between to allow the newly-poured curbs to and quot;cureand quot;, prior to pouring the walks.
The need to cut the asphalt, and for separate concrete pours, added a few hundred dollars to the original estimate, which was based on a monolithic pour being acceptable to PennDOT.
Gary arranged for an asphalt guy that he'd worked with previously to do the needed cutting and asphalt removal, along with asphalt replacement after the new curbs had been poured.
Gary gave us the option of paying the asphalt guy separately, or rolling it into his payments for simplicity, and letting him handle it all. For us, we preferred to deal only with a single point of contact, and we opted to just pay Gary for everything and let him deal with paying any needed subs. This worked out great for us....no problems at all.
Gary was pivotal in navigating the permit paperwork gauntlet required for this job. He spearheaded both the local and state permit application efforts on our behalf, having us just gather any needed supporting documentation (a copy of the deed for PennDOT) then just meeting up with us to get signatures on application paperwork that he prepped entirely on our behalf.
Both borough and PennDOT permits were required for this job, so there was a fair amount of bureacracy involved.
We expressed concern about the bend in the main road being a likely spot for snow plows to chip into the new curbing (as they had in the past). Gary handled this concern by having a reflective marker installed at the worst part of the bend (the part that jutted out the most), to prevent future damage to the new curb.
We are completely satisfied with Gary's work and his pricing, would use him again in the future, and would highly recommend him to anyone else needing new concrete curbing and/or sidewalks.
