First my dryer would not heat up. I called Tick. He called back within a day scheduled as soon as he could. It was my thermostats. He had it in the car and was fixed s within an hour. While he was jest I mentioned that my dishwasher wasn’t cleaning properly. He looked at it; determined I needed a new sprayer head. He ordered the part and called me when it was in. Came right over and replaced it and it’s working like new. While he was here I mentioned that my oven door wasn’t gliding properly. He fixed that while he was here. I think his work is superior and his prices are reasonable. He will always be the first I call for appliance repair

We never heard from this contractor. Time elapsed is now nearly 3 weeks, and we're still washing the dishes by hand.

I called Rick needing help with a broken dishwasher. After assessing the problem, he spent about 15 minutes on the phone educating me about how the dishwasher worked, and what the likely problem was. He correctly diagnosed that I would be able to fix it myself without needing to pay him (or anyone). He talked me through what to do, and it worked perfectly. I think that really speaks to the quality and integrity of him as a businessman. You don't meet a lot of folks like that anymore. He will be first on my list for my next call.

Exactly the way Rick said it would go. He was prompt, very knowledgeable, and explained things to us in language we could understand. He knew a temporary fix and told us since he didn't have the specific part on the truck. It worked perfectly until he could bring us the part early on the next business day. An excellent experience when we were even envisioning maybe having to buy a new freezer.

It was late in the afternoon so we didn't expect same day service despite the company's name. We set an appointment for the following day. He arrived right on time and accessed the situation quickly - the machine needed a part which he happened to have with him. We have no way of knowing if the diagnosis was correct but we trust that it was especially since it could have been a lot more costly and we were glad we didn't have to replace the machine. He made the repair very quickly and was on his way after taking payment with a credit card (he had a credit card reader with him). We were impressed with everything about the experience and would call him again for appliance repairs and service.

Rick promptly returned my call, listened to the problem - made a suggestion that it might be that the leads had gotten wet, told me to dry them with a hair dryer and see if that worked so I could avoid a service charge for a simple fix and Voila! it worked. He saved me time and money and I will definitely call him when I need another appliance fixed. Which, sadly, I'm sure will be in the not too distant future.

I called rick in hopes to have a technician out to service a gas smell coming from my stove.  I left a message, and he called back within the hour.  Rick asked me a series of questions about the issue, and finally narrowed it down to a short list.  I then told him where my home was and he told me that unfortunately he didn't service center city Philly. However, he continued to walk me through the issue and was happy to provide pro bono guidance.  
This kind of customer service is hard to come by these days, and while he didn't actually do any work for me, its clear that based on his character, he's one of the better choices out there...

I had Rick out to 1) fix a fan on the freezer side of our 10-year old GE side-by-side that had become extremely noisy and 2) to check out the rinse-aid dispenser on our 5-year old Whirlpool dishwasher that had recently become unfillable.

I was more than pleased with the service. First of all, Rick explained how fans can move over time and so went ahead to remove the fan housing and reposition it so that the fan would no longer sound like a small prop plane flying around inside the freezer. He also inserted a small piece of rubber stripping to keep the fan from moving again.

He also checked out the rinse-aid dispenser on the dish washer and really couldn?t determine why it refused to be filled. The great thing is that, rather than pushing for replacement of the dispenser, he suggested trying the pods that contain the soap and rinse aid all in one. He said if I wasn?t satisfied with the kind of cleaning the pods provided, I could give him a call and he?d be happy to come out and replace the dispenser. (He quoted the price, and I?m still deciding but will likely want to replace the dispenser anyhow.)

Let me add that I was going to call the company repair services for the fridge and dishwasher, but now I?m glad I didn?t. Although I can?t be sure, my guess is (based on a previous experiences) that they?d probably have wanted to simply replace parts and charge me lots more to do it. Also, scheduling with the company repair services isn?t easy. They have only certain days and dates available for certain areas. Rick was able to come out on a day and time that was convenient for me.

So bottom line, I?m extremely glad I decided to call Rick based on previous reviews. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. And in this day and age, it?s not easy to find someone who is willing to not make money in order to help you save it.

My hat?s off to Rick. I?ll be calling again when the time comes.

They were responsive, quick and polite. They came to our house to look at our GE fridge for no charge, told us what needed to be fixed and that a part needed to be ordered and should be in in a week or two.  It has been 5 weeks and I have called five times and left messages with no return call or follow up I will use someone else.

This was the second time that we had Rick out- the first time to repair our oven and this time to fix the dishwasher. While he did fix the leak (for which we were grateful), after he left the dishwasher door never opened fully. We called him numerous times to let him know when we would be home to either return his call or let him in to remedy this problem. While he did call back twice, it was never at the times we told him we would be home. After numerous tries, we just gave up and lived with a door that doesn't open fully. Skip to last week- our dishwasher is acting up again. I again tried to call Rick and after one returned call that I missed, he will not return my calls. Clearly his "same day" service is a misnomer- can't even get him to call back on the same day- forget about calling back. Due to this total lack of professionalism and apparent control issues, I called Costello and he returned my call within the hour. He was extremely apologetic that he couldn't come that day, but will be coming on Monday- will let you know how that goes. While I do think Rick knows what he is doing, he is totally frustrating to deal with and I will certainly not be calling him in the future.
