Adam Mechanical Heating, AC + Plumbing

Our house is old, with plaster/lathe walls and ceilings. Therefore, we wanted to avoid the conventional HVAC system if possible to avoid bump outs, severe wall demo, and large duct work running through our basement (which we hope to eventually finish)
Adam Mechanical performed a site visit and actually asked questions.
Their quote arrived 48 hours later - it was fairly priced and included several prices for all of the options we discussed during the initial site visit.
They're work crew walked me through the job and gave several options for how they could best run the duct work according to my future plans for the house. They could have just made decision on their own and left me to deal with the repercussions. Over and above. 
pTheir project manager was an excellent communicator and did everything within his power to ensure we were thrilled with the final product. I had a feeling he would have called his guy back to work at 7pm if I asked him to - dedication to perfection.

When we bought our new house we knew we wanted to install central A/C before we moved in.  We got a recommendation from our electrictian to try out Adam Mechanical, and also received estimates from two other companies.  Seth came out to give me the estimate and spent an hour + with me talking out the details of where the unit would be installed and how the ductwork would run through the house.  Given the age of our home and the fact that most of our attic is finished, the spaces to put ductwork in the house were severely limited.  After my time with Seth, I felt confident that I understood how the AC would work in our home and how it would effect our storage space--- and we hadn't even hired them yet! 
Seth wrote up a fair estimate given the work that was competitive with other companies, so given the confidence I had in Seth, we decided to hire Adam Mechanical.  
The work was scheduled to begin within two weeks of hiring.  The technicians, Joe, Dwayne, and Eric were patient, professional, kind, and seemed to really care about their work.  They checked with me before installing all the ductwork to make sure I was okay with placement.  They also added an additional duct in the master bedroom at no additional cost just to make sure it was kept cool, and they cleaned up wonderfully every day.  Zach, who supervises on-site work, stopped by many times to check on progress and make sure I understood what was going on in the house.  Seth also came by a couple of times to make sure that the crew was following what we had discussed prior to install. 
After the install was complete, Zach followed up a couple of times to make sure the house is cool and that we are satisfied with the work.  Overall, all the staff at Adam Mechanical that I interacted with were friendly, responsive, and detail-oriented. 
We have been enjoying a nice, cool house on these humid summer days!  I highly recommend Adam Mechanical.

Simply put, it was time to replace everything before they crapped out and did a bunch of damage.  The A/C, oil tank, water heater, humidifier and air cleaner were all pushing 20 years of age and the furnace was pushing 30.  They were costing a lot to operate as they weren't efficient to begin with and got less so as they got older.  Seth came out, evaluated what we had and provided an estimate with a variety of options.  After speaking to a number of different companies, we decided to go with Adams.

It took a day plus an hour or so the next day to do all of the work.  There were 5 men on site and they did a great job.  Everything went smoothly and everything was running after they left on the first day save the heater - which, of course wasn't needed in the middle of July.  They hooked up the furnace to the gas the following day and we were pretty much ready to go!!!

This was truly one stop shopping from start to finish including an EPA certified company to remove the old oil and oil tank.

You have many choices these days when it comes to heating and A/C.  Adams came highly recommended and they didn't disappoint!

Everything went well from beginning to end.

Ended up that the a/c was not working at all, so did a quick rewire to get it up and running.  One of the owners came out to assist.  They were very professional and polite.   Looking forward to using them in the future.

When we read the many amazing reviews of Adam Mechanical on Angie's List we worried that they were "too good to be true".  However, based on the reviews, we had them come out to look at our system and present a proposal.  From our very first phone contact with Michelle and our visit by Seth Samuel, we were impressed by their knowledge, professionalism, and their commitment to addressing the needs of their clients.  Seth's evaluation was very thorough, including room area measurements to calculate the heat load in order to determine the appropriate size for our boiler.  The cost estimate for the work was less than those from two other contractors and the proposal was more detailed.
The installation crew - Joe, Darryl, and Anthony - accompanied by Zack Samuel, Seth's brother, arrived early on the first day of the installation.  We had received an email from the office confirming their arrival and including a photo of each of the team.  They prepared the space, laying down thick mats to protect our carpets and covering everything in the heater room with plastic tarps.  They also wore booties while walking through the house to access the heater room.  The old cast iron boiler (1200 pounds) and 250 gallon oil tank were removed almost "effortlessly".  The new Dunkirk boiler -  small and efficient - was placed and the 6 zone circulators and small expansion tank were neatly installed.  The chimney flue had to be raised to accommodate the boiler exhaust, a major job which they accomplished very effectively.  On the second day, the crew installed the independent gas fired Rheem hot water heater.  They bled the system and successfully fired up the boiler and hot water heater.  Zack reviewed the operation of the boiler for us and patiently answered our questions. The crew cleaned up the considerable debris and left the heater room and the hallway carpets looking good. 
Our new system works efficiently and is VERY quiet, something we are getting used to!
Our experience with Adam Mechanical is everything we hoped that it would be.  Everyone with whom we had contact was really nice to work with.  They were knowledgeable and highly skilled. And they REALLY aimed to please!  We recommend them to anyone who is considering a new HVAC system and are confident that you won't be disappointed.

Update (October 21, 2015):  As promised, Zack returned to check out our heating system, now that the weather is colder and it is operating.  The system has been working quietly and efficiently, effectively heating the multiple zones in our home.  Zack checked the boiler and each of the 6 zones to be sure that the circulators were working properly and that there were no leaks.  He was happy with the operation of the system and we are delighted with the service provided by Adam Mechanical!

It worked out very well. The price was good. The quality of the work was okay because he had all the equipments for testing and diagnosing the problem. He was responsive, respectful and he was a gentleman. Everything is excellent about him. 

We were impressed with Adam Mechanical throughout the entire process.  When we smelled gas in our home they immediately sent a technician who evaluated the situation and informed us that our old boiler was unsafe and needed to be replaced.  He carefully explained the situation and showed us why he was concerned that simply attempting to repair the old boiler would be unsafe.  The crew which came to install the new boiler was extremely professional and courteous.  Later when I had our plumber at the house to do some work in the basement unrelated to the new boiler he remarked at what an outstanding job Adam Mechanical had done as he looked at the new boiler.  We are extremely happy with our new boiler.  The office staff is also very professional and efficient.

.  Seth, from Adam Mechanical scheduled me for an evaluation of what I wanted done..  The job involved putting the unit in the attic with duct work down to the 2nd and 1st floor for all the rooms, an intake and exhaust vent pipe for the unit was cut into the roof, gas supply line was run from the basement to unit. We also discussed placement of the exterior unit  Seth quoted me a price for all the work which was within my budget and very competitive with other quotes.  The best part was that Adam Mechanical had a financing plan that was interest free during the entire time of the payment contract.  This worked great for me!  I now have a new heating/a-c and look forward to the summer when I can use the air conditioning through the entire house.  I was very very pleased with the expertise and professionalism. It was an overall great experience. Great Job!!! I will certainly let all my friends know about your company.

From the beginning when they came to troubleshoot my broken boiler (Zack for service) to giving me an estimate on a new system (Sean for sales) they were very helpful.  They answered phone calls after hours and on weekends.  They were very honest and upfront.  I was in a difficult situation since my boiler broke 5 days before Christmas.  They were able to properly advise me about replacing the boiler and had a new system installed in a few days.  On top of it all, their price was over $2000 less than I received from another company.
I don't think you can go wrong with these guys!

Checked Boiler for operation. Oiled Circulation Pump but did not clean it outside. Check gas valve for operation. Explained that everything was working ok.

We recently had to rebuild our pools heating system and Adam Mechanical?s owners quickly came out to our house and gave us a professional comprehensive quote to run the new big gas lines. They were on time comprehensive and explained everything to my wife and I to the T. We set up an appointment for them to do the work, they came on time and had everything they needed to complete the work as described. Everyone was very professional and they even wore booties, the best part was that the price was the price. We now use them for all our heating and air-conditioning for our home.

Seth came out for an estimate and was very honest about which direction to go. The estimate came in lower than another I got for less work.  Darrel and Anthony performed the work to specifications.  The job actually finished a day early, which is always good news.   Very efficient and skilled workmanship. Technicians wore booties and used floor mats to protect my floors,  The field supervisor, Zack, came out to inspect the work and checked if I had any questions or comments about the installation.  I was extrememly satisfied with the professionalism which began with Seth spending time to discuss my alternatives,  to  when Zack came out to check the job and ask for my assessment of the prroject.  I was given his assurance that if I had any other questions not to hesitate to call and ask to talk to either Seth or Zack..  I would recommend these guys to do any type of HVAC work..  Call them even if you are sure you got the best estimate. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Seth and his team were a joy to work with.  They were prompt in showing up, scheduling and submitting estimates.  Always friendly and helpful on the phone.  The crew that installed the system were professional, thorough and clean.  Very responsive to requests I made without any tension back and forth.  Seth also worked collaboratively with me to size the system to my specific needs in a way that actually saved me a few hundred dollars.  I would highly recommend them!!

From beginning to end the job was seamless.  The work was completed over a two day period, the technicians, Anthony and Daryl were clean and professional.  The workmanship was impeccable, everything neat, lined up and secured.  The sheet metal work was fabricated on the job but you couldn't tell it from work accomplished in a fabricating shop. 

The office shaft schedule the work per my request and sent emails with the names of the technicians the day before.  After the work was completed they sent all the paperwork for rebates ready to sign and mail.  The whole experience was truly and pleasure. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

This was a tricky job, because there was not a whole lot of room in the attic above the third floor, and because they had to run ducts from the attic to the second floor ceiling. Several contractors who looked at the job basically said it was too difficult for them. Of the contractors who would take it on, the estimates were about 10K more than Adam. When Seth came out to look at the job he immediately began planning for how they could make it work given my requirements and my goal not to disturb the historical character of the house. He and Zack then went over the placement of each duct with me prior to my signing the contract. Once installation began, I was constantly in touch with the foreman and with Zack about what exactly they were doing to make the system functional and to keep the impact on the house to a minimum. In the two and half weeks they were on the job, I was consistently impressed with their professionalism and with their responsiveness to my concerns. I would definitely use them again.

Woke up on a Friday morning and realized the house was warmer than is should be.  Sure enough the A/C did not appear to working correctly.  The blower unit was working fine, but the outdoor compressor was not running.  I called Adam Mechanical and they were on site in just a couple of hours.  Tech Mike performed some basic troubleshooting and quickly found the trouble - a bad contactor in the condensor unit.  Mike had the part on the truck and had the A/C running again in no time at all.
I've used Adam Mechanical once previously, which was on the Fourth of July about 2 years ago, and Mike was the tech on that trouble call as well. During this previous issue, I was also very satisfied at his ability to quickly diagnose the trouble.  I will definitely use Adam Mechanical in the future!
