O'BRIEN RESTORATION INC

The job started in July and was finished in September. That was 1 month longer than it was supposed to take. They used a dumpster for debris, but left some concrete and the stones from my old porch foundation. After 6 years the porch is in good shape, however the steps may need to be replaced. The wood trim inside is too weak to hold nails in some spots so my curtain rods have fallen out a few times. The toilet has a small crack in it where it might have been dropped during installation and they missed a spot where they should have caulked.

It seemed to go well, but the paint failed within 6 months. Painted in summer, failed by following spring and the screens never fit properly. At first all the screens would just fall out if touched. I told him about it and he said, well what do you want me to do, caulk them in? I said "No, make them fit" So he "fixed them once", they were better but several still fell out, if pushed gently and several still needed the holes redrilled for the pins. Also, they just don't fit the window - space around the screens let the bugs in. I contacted Mr. O'brien several times and he blamed the window supplier. I called the supplier and then fixed the window more myself. I also gave Mr. O'brien the chance to refund some of the money, which he never did, since I had to pay to have his work fixed and then pay to have the job redone.

Very good. There was some complexity in this work because other contractors did the roof shingling, and the entire roof, not just the porch roof was being done. Also, the porch was resurfaced by a separate hardscaping contractor. Joe was able to dovetail his work with the work of others well. We appreciated the finished product.

GORDON WAS VERY PROMPT,POLITE AND EFFICIENT IN GETTING THE JOB DONE. HOWEVER, HE WORKS FOR JOE AND HE HAD TO WAIT FOR JOE TO DELIVER SOME MATERIALS WHICH DELAYED SOME OF THE WORK.
