The contractor requested that I scrape loose paint and plaster from the walls, which I did. In replacing the damaged sections of the ceiling he only used a few screws, and grumbled when I asked him to put a few more scews, especially on the ends. Ceilings should be screwed around every 12 inches. Where he blended the old ceiling to wall areas he did not install tape where it was missing from removing the old peeling paint and plaster. There was a crack in a corner area above the door that was about 1/8 " and he refused to tape it saying just plaster coat would be fine! 2 days later when the room was to be primed There were cracks in several corners where tape was not used, the paper tape applied in one area of the new drywall was lifting and there were several very rough areas that were far from the paint ready condition he promised. Had many areas to redo , and patch before priming. Very Handy Constructio, Bill Martin would not return my messages, e mails or calls. Very disappointed!!!!

The job was small and I appreciated the prompt response. Communication with Bill, by text, was clear and timely. On the day off repair, Bill arrived within minutes of our appointed time. He worked efficiently and professionally. I had minimal cleanup after he left. I will hire again.

Showed up on time for quoting on a Saturday, offered suggestions. Rate quote was reasonable. Scheduled work the very next Friday. Was punctual again and called 15 minutes before quote and work to advise of arrival. This is the kind of contractor you want!

Our 100-year-old plaster ceiling in the dining room partially collapsed on a Sunday, and I spoke with Bill on Monday, and he was there Tuesday and finished the entire project by himself on Saturday. Because the ceiling was showing a lot of cracks and sags elsewhere in the room, we ended up having bill tear the entire heavy old plaster ceiling down and replace it all with smooth drywall. Bill was excellent: communicative, punctual, he cleaned up after himself beautifully, and he was very fair with his pricing, explained what was required thoroughly, and also did not pressure us to take any specific option (we discussed patching, self-demo, and full demo/replacement). I am so impressed with Bill, I would recommend him to anyone who needs drywall repair/replacement.

The two upstairs bedrooms suffered major water damage and only got worse as time went on. The walls and ceilings were so bad that the plaster would fall at the slightest touch. Although I knew that repair was possible, I was amazed at how well Very Handy Contractors and Temps did the work. The work was above and beyond my expectations!
