TruGreen Lawn Care - 5840

They always come and they always go and i never see them. They lawn looks great. They are a little pricey. I did catch the one guy when i was working at the back of the house and he seemed to know what he was doing.

I've had some issues and they come out and tell me what they've been doing to my lawn and that's not what I've been wanting them to do. They're going to change it, but they are asking me to pay for it.

No problems with the actual work, but dealing with the parent company is terrible. I rated the parent company F, but the local workers B: - they call too often trying to sell more services - every time I request a service they ask for my credit card again - every time they come I need to dispose of another little plastic sign Those were minor annoyances. But today I got a message they are coming to treat the lawn tomorrow. My house is being painted and they can't get to the back yard so I tried calling to post-pone. I waited on hold for 15 minutes listening to ads for more services. I switched over to their automated system hoping I could post pone the service there... you sort of can, but it dumps you back into the queue waiting to talk to someone. That was the last straw, I'm sick of dealing with this company... and now I can't cancel my service. There doesn't seem to be a way to do it on the web site. I can't even delete my credit card data, so I'm not sure how I will cancel service!

paid for whole year service but only did one weed control treatment never come back and multiple phone calls no resolution yet

The lawn looks good and I'm happy with the service; however, there was a major miscommunication when the agent estimated my lawn area (by satellite photo), and their coverage is not complete.  Rather than adjust that mid-season, I've decided to allow this contract to continue and re-evaluate their service at the end of the growing season.  At that time, I'll decide whether or not to keep them, and if I want them to expand the coverage of the lawn.  I anticipate that expanded coverage will double the cost, which makes them non-competitive with another nationally-advertised lawn service.
Because they use a hose to dispense liquid product, I seriously doubt that they can reach the back portions of my 3-acre property, so I may nave to resume treating that myself.
One minor complaint I had was that they sprayed weed control on a rainy day.  I know from using their products for 30+ years myself that weed control must stay on the leaves for a minimum of 24 hours.  I called to complain and they re-treated the area at no additional cost to me.  The lesson here is that they will stand by their service provided you keep an eye on them.

Did not stay with them - switched to another service provider when offered a better deal.  Also, the company never stopped selling even after under contract.  In short time with them, they suggested additional services at additional fees.

I am very pleased with them. I am on a contract with them and this is my second year. I did last year all through the year and this year. They have been out twice before. They have different plans, but I am on the six service agreement per year. The cost is based on lawn size obviously, the amount of square-footage that they are treating. So, it is kind of unique. I have a little less than an acre that they treat and they charge around $80 per treatment. I think their pricing is reasonable. They come and do the job on the lawn. I do not need to be there.

We were not pleased with the results and canceled the service.  Once we canceled service, they continued to call regularly during the dinner hour and later, to sale their service to us again.  When we asked that they stop calling, they responded that by law they could call us for three years and that they were not going to stop calling.  We ended reporting them to the Better Business Bureau to get them to stop calling.  Very disappointing.

The service is very good. I am very happy with them. I have been with them for three years. They apply the treatments very quickly. When I asked the workers questions they always answer me. I go out and check on things when they are done and they get the grass covered.

For tree care they are ok.  All the ever green stuff they give them like a wax coating to minimize the burn of the cold weather in the winter. What they have is an annual plan where they come out and treat different times of the seasons for different reasons. They setup a schedule and I can say yes or no. if I say yes they just show up and do their treatment and then it automatically gets billed to my credit card. I can usually assume that they are going to apply whatever spray or fertilizer when it should be put on and I don’t have to worry about it. The reason I stay with them was the trees. It’s kind of an automatic thing. They will go year to year without me contacting them if I am satisfied with what they are doing or if what they are doing I feel is producing positive results. I can always call them and change something. Sometimes I feel I am spending more money than I need to but the shrubs and trees needs to stay nice.

We have been using TruGreen's services for quite a few years and we are content with the service we receive.

They're very good. They're dependable and they call ahead by a day or so to say when they're coming. They leave a list of all the things that they put on the lawn so we can keep track of whatever is being done. We find them very satisfactory. They're a little expensive but they're great. If I have a question or a criticism, they'll come back out and redo or do further things that need to be done. They've been very responsive.

Mike Runk is my lawn care specialist. He does a terrific job and always leaves a detailed report of what he observed with my lawn and what services he performed. I've received many compliments about how nice my yard looks. I'm very satisfied with TruGreen.

They are very nice to work with. Call a couple of days ahead to say they are coming, even tho' I don't need to be home to give them access to the yard. Come to the door to tell me what they plan to do that visit and leave a detailed report in writing afterward. Usually takes only about 15 minutes a visit for my small yard. If I have any questions or complaints they are easy to reach by phone and very willing to help. I have used them for 3 years now and plan to continue.

They killed our grass. They would come out and put the stuff on, even if there was no rain and your grass was dry. And that's what killed our grass. They over-process it. It happened one time too many, before I figured out what was going on. They burnt my yard. They were never mean.

Our lawn is completely transformed since using Scott's.

Our address is a good hour south of Scott's in the Middletown area, so I was initially a little concerned with this in case we'd have issues with applications during rainy periods, but they insisted that they had a lot of customers near me.  There were several local businesses rated higher in Angie's ratings, but I decided to include Scott's as one of our 3 quotes.  When I called them, I told their manager this and explained that I was still waiting on an estimate from a more local company.  He instantly assumed Scott's would cost more and dropped the monthly price by $10.  We was very aggressive and I ended up signing up with them.  I still allowed the other company to come and give a quote.  To my surprise, they were considerably more expensive then Scott's original price would've been.  So we started with Scott's and their monthly payment plan.  We signed up for 6 treatments at $82/month (they treat about 1/2 acre of my yard).  They've done 2 treatments and our yard is looking very good so far.  We've had other Lawn service companies in the past, and I must say that Scott's has killed our existing weeds much better.  My wife thinks our lawn looks as good as it ever has.
So I wasn't very pleased with their initial sales tactics....but the results speak for themselves.  Also, they have everything online, which I really like.  I can see exactly what they did, what is scheduled, and they offer a automatic monthly payment, which I prefer.  So far, so good.

Trugreen is very reliable with their service. They always show up on schedule and they are very professional. They are also very responsive to any issues with our lawn that we might have. They do come around periodically to inspect other areas of our yard and offer recommendations.

We were not happy with them. We paid them $400 for like six services and we basically think that they did not live up to their end of the bargain. We just were not happy with the results so we would not use them again.
