Appliance Repair
Several calls to Sears oriental workers. They, at best, tell follow a script and they are done. They don't call back, or follow up and any needed help. Our refrigerator broke on the and now on 7/17/17 and on 8/15/17 it is still not fixed. They say maybe after the 21st.

I got hooked up with them because when the refrigerator needed work I went on the Whirlpool site to find out who the authorized Whirlpool people are then I set up an appointment online and it was Sears that showed up. However, it took them ten days to come.

Our experience with Sears was totally unsatisfactory. We were told that he annual tune-up would be $50 plus tax, pre-paid. Then Sears called and said that the $50 we paid was only a diagnostic fee, and that the tune-up would be another $53 plus tax. We were not having any problems with the mower, and did not ask for a "diagnosis." This will be our last visit to Sears. In the last five years we have bought a riding mower, two push mowers, a lawn vac and a snow blower from Sears. Next time we need service or equipment we will be going elsewhere. Buyer beware.

Appliance Repair
This was a terrible experience! Sears uses calling centers that are overseas and the person to whom I talked was only interested in up selling me. I kept telling him that I just wanted my washing machine repaired. He hung up on me...and this after I had waited 25 minutes to speak with someone. I filed a formal complaint. I will never use Sears again!

My experience with them was excellent. The repair person was very nice, knowledgeable, and he explained things very well. His price was really reasonable. He was here for about an hour and a half and he only charged 25$ extra.

I liked that this service company did exactly what they said they would do. They phoned before arrival and maintained a clean worksite. I also liked that I was given a discount by the repairman. My freezer now works without issue. I highly recommend them to others.

Roofing
We did not like when they were finished, I had to go up there and the ridge line on the garage was crooked. They covered half of the gutters with the shingles. We are very unhappy with them and are trying to resolve that now. We do not recommend them, and we will not use them again in the future.

Appliance Repair, Appliance Sale
The compressor went bad and originally they wanted us to wait two weeks or two months while they looked for a new part. After we got on the phone with the higher-ups and told them that they weren’t going to find a part for a 15-20 year old refrigerator, they agreed with us. At that point they were very nice and we got to pick out a new refrigerator and we got a new refrigerator the next day. I’m a diabetic and I need to keep my insulin cold. Other than a little snafu at the beginning it worked out very well. The technician was just following what he was told to say.

Heating and Air Conditioning Service
I just called the general 800 Sears number and the salesman came here. The price was way too much. I thought that the salesperson was a smooth operator and I got talked into way more of the system than I really needed. I would not go back to Sears for a heat pump. He did up sell me and then everybody wants you to buy something like service contract and puts on the pressure saying that their service is the best there is and that their service engineers are trained in the system. It is really frustrating. I had problems with the system within six months and I had the biggest runaround when I called for service. The heat pump that was just six months old wasn't working and it was hot outside, and they tell me that I would hear from somebody in 24-48 hours when I called. The problem was with the circuit board and it took them over three days to put in a new one. It just was not good. I didn't have to pay for the replacement since it was still under warranty. I had real problems with the salesperson and then I had the initial problems with the system. I had problems with the guy that installed the system and it just was not a good deal. The system check up done recently was decent though.

Contacted the repair center on-line to schedule an appointment. After describing the problem twice in chat mode, the scheduler offered to have a repairman come out and replace the roller for $251.99. This price included a service contract covering the entire appliance for 1 year. I asked if the service person would have the necessary part on the truck. The scheduler replied that they routinely stock all major parts. I asked for another payment option, and he said that I could choose to be charged $65 for a diagnostic visit at which time I would be given a parts and labor estimate to complete the repair. If I chose to accept the estimate, the $65 charge would be rolled into the estimate. I already knew that if I ordered the part from Sears, it would cost $24 plus shipping. I asked the scheduler how much labor would be. He responded that he didn't know. I suggested he speak to his supervisor, which he didn't do. To summarize a really long story, he offered me the $251.99 at least five additional times even though I clearly refused and indicated I wanted to pay the parts/labor charge instead. At one point he wanted a statement from me as to why I was refusing the service contract since it "clearly was in my best interest". After refusing the hard sell several more times, I was given the "opportunity" to get estimates on other whole house related services like central air, home heating, etc. Appointment was scheduled for following day between 1 & 5 PM. At around 3:10 PM on the 24th, I received a call from the repair person - he was 10 minutes out. He arrived with a trainee and a laptop computer. He fired up the computer and verified the damage to the roller. He reported he did not have on on the truck, but believed one was available in a warehouse about 5 miles away. His estimate was $221.76. $30 for the part, the remainder for labor and transportation costs. I told him about the $251.99 offer. He replied it was off the table when he got to my front door. I accepted the estimate. He and his trainee hopped into the truck and came back 25 minutes later with the part. It was installed in a half hour. My biggest objection to the hole process was the high pressure selling of a service contract and the lack of sharing a labor charge. This prevented me from making an informed decision about which choice to make. Over all, even though the repair went well, the over selling left a very bad taste in my mouth. I will not be dealing with Sears for appliance repair again.

I was pleased with the service. Sears repaired my microwave at a reasonable price. I had to remove it and drop it off at the repair center. I paid a diagnostic fee which was later applied to the final bill. I dropped it off on 12/30 and it was ready for pickup on 01/14.
