The move went very well, the cost was very reasonable, and the two movers were courteous and professional! I would suggest they call to to confirm the date and time that day before, and to give another call when they were departing to come to my home and an approximate arrival time. As it was, they arrived 35 minutes early, and they had to wait five minutes for me because I was traveling from my new home back to my former home. I thought I was arriving 30 minutes early to take items off the piano and move the carpet and vacuum and mop underneath where the carpet had been. I was embarrassed not to have been ready and to have had to do that in front of them since they were early. When people are moving from one location to another, things are rather chaotic and messy, so a heads up call is very valuable. One of the two gentlemen were courteous and respectful, but one mover needed to sit down frequently due to a bad back. I felt sorry for him, but he really shouldn't have been moving the piano with a bad back. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Mr. Portzline was very professional and helpful. He worked with my crazy schedule and arrived promptly. He answered questions I had about how frequently I should have my piano tuned, the current state of my piano and possible steps to take as the piano ages. And he played some music beautifully to test the piano when he was finished. My first Angie's List experience was excellent!

Scott was reliable and on time. His price was competitive.

He tuned the piano by ear rather than using a tuning device. I was skeptical about this, and found my doubts to be somewhat true. I am not really happy with the tuning of the upper and lower registers of the piano.

I called Scott and he came out promptly at the scheduled time to tune the piano after making sure that the piano had been in the new house for a sufficient time to acclimate it to the new home. Scott tunes by ear and did an excellent job getting the piano back in tune. I was very pleased and will call him the next time I need the piano tuned.

We were impressed with Scott when he moved our piano so we asked him to return for the tuning after the piano acclimated to our environment. He arrived early and was quite friendly. Scott happily answered all my questions and his fee was actually less than originally quoted. I asked about tuning tools, specifically electronic tuning, and his answer was that he tuned by ear. His explanation for not using electronic tuning satisfied my curiosity and once I left him alone it took about 90 minutes to complete the tuning. I have some musical background, playing the trumpet and tympani in my youth, and Scott's musical ability was evident. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scott for piano moving or tuning. In fact, we've already planned to have Scott come back in late spring to maintain the piano.
