PET AUTHORITY

We have been taking our pets here for years.  Recently we started to take on rescue pets.  Our little Yorkie is deaf, blind and incontient. He was given about 6 months to live but that was almost 2 years ago. The Pet Authority sponsers the Humane Society with an occasional donation to a rescue dog who is in desperate need of a cleaning.  Hairy (our Yorkie) was chosen.  I can't name just one employee there over the years that haven't put their heart and soul into the care of our pets.  They take their time developing a friendship with each of our dogs.  At first our pets were reluctant to go in however now they don't seem to mind.  They still don't care for the waiting cage, but our groomer is rarely more than a few feet away and knows how and when to address them.  Professionally I don't think you will find a better group of groomers, who are well versed in their profession, both through knowledge and practice.  I highly recommend them for any of  your beloved pets.

The girls who do the actual grooming are absolutely WONDERFUL...can't say enough good things about Kelly and Brenda. The owner (Tom) is another story. I have been on the "receiving end" of his poor customer service skills.
A few years ago, I was the winner of Pet Authority's "Pet of the Year" contest, which entitled me to a year of free grooming (12 total). When I received the call telling me I had won, I was also told that since it was a cat who won that I could use this award for both of my cats and that there was no expiration...it would be good for 12 grooming visits. When I had my spring visit with both cats, Tom waited on me for check-out. When I presented my "gold card" for the free groomings, he literally flipped out. He began arguing with me and vehemently denied having ever offered services to both cats and that it was ONLY for the Pet of the Year. He then proceed to grab a Sharpie and write an expiration date of December 2009 on the card. This would not give me a full year of service since I didn't win their "contest" until April of that year. He was very loud, argumentative, and just plain obnoxious. Everyone in the shop was staring at us and I was even told that they were embarrassed by his behavior.
In spite of this treatment, I continued going to this groomer since not many others will work on cats -- and as I said earlier, the girls who do the actual work are amazing! Well, the "wrath of Tom" rained down once again, but this time it was on one of his employees. He screamed at her, was belittling, mean, and downright nasty. It was so bad that I wanted to jump the gate and come between them.
This is just my opinion, but there seems to be something very unstable about this man. He also seems to have anger issues and becomes irate over the smallest issues. I will NEVER go back there and would strongly advise others to avoid all contact with him. If you choose to use their services, make sure it's on a day when he's not there!
