Daryl took my call.
I didn't have to leave a message.
He showed up for the estimate when he said he would.
He provided an estimate when he said he would.
His quote was lower than another Mason I contacted on Angie's list.
Daryl showed up when he said he would to do the work.
He did a professional job.
I realize all the above sounds like "How you should run a business 101" Amazing, many contractors don't.
Very happy with Daryl Hunsberger and will hire him again and refer him to my clients.
Daryl Hunsberger of DWH Masonry, LLC was the first to come out and review the scope of the pointing project and he provided a mortar color chart for our reference, since there were a number of colors options we had to select from. From the start, Daryl was extremely professional and consistent in his communications with us. After taking his measurements and talking with us about the phasing of the project, he said that he would get back to us in a few days with his written estimate.
In the meantime, we had meetings with two (2) other Angie?s List contractors and one (1) non-Angie?s List contractor. What we found unprofessional on the part of these mason contractors is their negative attitude towards other mason contractors. It seemed to us that they were so willing to badmouth other mason contractors if their approach to the project was not in line with theirs. This negativity and unprofessionalism on their part played into us not giving these contractors the business, simply because as a skilled tradesman, you shouldn?t have to degrade someone else?s solution/approach in order to make your approach seem like the most logical one.
We selected Daryl Hunsberger of DWH Masonry, LLC because he let his workmanship speak for itself and he quickly aligned all expectations with the realities of the unpredictability of spring weather and his timeline for completing various steps of this Phase I project.
He was not the least expensive mason contractor we got estimates from, but as it was stated earlier, he was the most professional of all the mason contractors we got estimates from and the lowest priced estimate was not our main objective when seeking bids for this project. We went with our first impression and Daryl set the bar high, right from the start.
Being timely is part of being professional and we were shocked at how these other mason contractors didn?t factor this into their first impression with a potential client. We even had one contractor just show up without confirming his schedule with us and we were in the process of discussing the project with another contractor we he arrived.
Enough about the ?other? mason contractors; the ONLY one you need to know about in this review is Daryl Hunsberger of DWH Masonry, LLC. He is somewhat laid-back, but don?t be fooled by this casual demeanor, his focus is unrelenting and he makes it look so effortless. He also runs a very clean jobsite, considering the about of dust and debris that is generated from the grinding/chiseling out of the old mortar.
The positive feedback that we received from the transformation of the new pointing has given us additional curb appeal and restored these portions of this stone home to its previously unrealized potential.
If you are looking for a truly skilled and gifted mason, look no further than Daryl Hunsberger of DWH Masonry, LLC. We tell everyone that stops by to ask about our new pointing about him and wholeheartedly recommend Daryl to anyone seeking quality mason craftsmanship at its best. We look forward to working with Daryl on the other phases of this project.

We went with Daryl because of his professionalism, promptness, and fair price. He maintained good communication throughout the process, giving me updates of when the work would begin depending on weather. He arrived on time and completed the job ahead of the estimated time. The chimney looks great and we would recommend his work to anyone.
I was very pleased with his work, his attitude (he is very laid back and quiet) and he was willing to put up with my dog wanting attention from him. He and Carl cleaned up and were done by 2:30 p.m. on the second day.
I received five bids for the job because they were so far apart. I felt that I definitely picked the right person for the job and at a reasonable cost.
