Truly appalling lack of customer service. I wanted to set up service for a little Forest Service cabin on Mt. Hood Oregon. Called, got pricing, got the reps email to reach out to confirm things (weird), set up an appt, and then, they didn't show up, didn't reach out, the rep never responded to multiple emails. So, called again to see if I could set up an appointment, got entirely different (more expensive) pricing, set up an account and an appt. Once again, no show, no call/text/email, nothing. The way the calls went with the reps makes me think Amerigas is just a numbers game and not in the business of serving customers.

My father in-law had a serious stroke that landed him in a nursing home. He lived alone in a single wide mobile home in a park and had "Amerigas" as his propane provider for cooking and heat. We listed the home for sale and had it professionally winterized with the heat set to 60 degree's and over the course of these cold winter months, the tank had run out of gas and that's when the trouble began. We found a buyer for the home who wants to have a home inspection (reasonable, who wouldn't) so we need propane to fire the furnace and the stove for the inspector to be sure all is well. We call "Amerigas" and they will only deliver 100 gallons (the tanks full capacity) at a cost of $300+ and that they need to do a leak test at a cost of $48 and, that someone has to be there to let them in. Okay fine, seems rather expensive but it is what it is. We asked what time we can expect them as we live and hour away and could meet the driver. To our surprise they couldn't/wouldn't give us a time! Not even a window of time! We explained that there is no heat in the house and we would have to sit outside in a car and wait just to stay warm, and they didn't care at all! Totally irritated and mad about the lack of customer service, we cancelled the delivery. It's funny when you call them and are on hold forever that all you hear is their recording about their wonderful customer service and that customer service is their number one priority! So, we call a competitor... New tank delivered, filled to 50 gallons, leak checked, total cost to us... $128! AND, they will call the day before and the day of letting us know exactly when the driver will be there! Now that's customer service!!

It did not cost me anything. I never had any problems with them; all they do is drive up and put gas in the tank.

If you sign their contract they can charge you any fee they want if you terminate service with them.
