We were in the process of buying a house and needed to put a fence up for our dogs. There were a lot of big trees/bushes along the back of our property that we needed to be removed so we could get the fence put in. They came out on short notice and got it done in one afternoon and did a very good job. Except for the dirt you can't even tell the trees were there.

We approached the owner, Jim, with our ideas, including some pictures. He made up a plan complete with drawings and gave us an estimate. He was booked up for several weeks, but once he was clear to do our job it was done in about 2 days. His men are awesome workers - it was the hottest week of the summer, and it didn't phase them. He chose plants from his nursery, then positioned them so we could see the result, and changed anything that we didn't like before permanently planting them. We liked the steppers so much that we had him come back to extend the walkway and to transplant trees we had started a few years earlier. I can't say enough about his work. We are very happy with everything that he did. Hopefully, we will have him do some more in the years to come. I would highly recommend Pleasant Hill. He is understandably busy, so patience is needed until he can get to new work.
Description of Work: Landscaped our front yard, built walkway with steppers down a little hill from the side of the house to the back door, planted additional trees.

Jim educated us on the difference between emerald green and green giant arborvitaes. We decided on the emerald greens due to aesthetics. We had our plan together and fine-tuned the details through email and phone calls in early June. Jim said his crew would likely be planting the trees at the end of June, but that it could be bumped back slightly due to rain during the month. July 1st, the work was started and they were finished by the afternoon of July 2nd. Jim's crew dug all of the holes for the trees by hand (48 in total covering about 250' of yard). They began by putting down a strong weed killer because the area that was being planted was a weed jungle previously. After the holes were dug, they supplemented the ground soil with nutrient-enriched soil to enhance the tree's chances for survival. They also leveled out a slope that existed in my back yard. After the trees were planted, they staked each tree to ensure the wind would not damage them, and covered everything over with dark mulch. Jim kept me posted of the progress throughout the entire project. Jim's passion for horticulture is very obvious, and he treated my project as if it was being done in his own back yard. His crew was very professional, working hard from the early morning until the late evening. They were also very friendly, smiling a lot and waving to my family when they saw each other, but always working hard. We usually choose to work on projects ourselves because we want to make sure they are completed with care. Without a doubt, Jim's passion and commitment to delivering an excellent product is genuine. The finished product was beyond our expectation, and we are thankful for the experience we had with Pleasant Hill Garden Center. We have already started thinking about our next outdoor project and we're excited to engage Pleasant Hill Garden Center once again.
Description of Work: We were deciding between a 6ft privacy fence or a row of arborvitae and called several places for quotes on both. From the minute Jim (Pleasant Hill) arrived, we felt like we could trust him. He was very passionate about his work, confident in the plan he provided to us, and was fair in his pricing. The arborvitae quote was at least a 1/3 of the cost of any fence quote we received.
