Beran Painting & Staining

We bought our 2 bedroom "country" home in October 2011, already knowing we would need some interior updating done. Taking into account my recent stroke and partner's work schedule (not to mention our painting inexperience) and the fact that we have 4 often mischievous, always curious cats, we found ourselves in a "pickle". We asked friends for painter references and got zilch, so I took to the internet for a search. We live in a rural part of Mercer County, PA with professional painters working in NW Pennsylvania and NE Ohio...but not many that apparently preferred to drive out our way for either a consult/estimate OR a paying job. I contacted 5 different companies with no luck, even AngiesList was scarce with interior painters in our area.Just by chance, I happened upon information about a family owned business close to us that reportedly did good work, and got in touch with Travis Beran of Beran Painting & Staining. Travis offered to come out and take a look at the job and possibly give us an estimate, and was at our place the next afternoon. From the minute Travis spoke with us, he acted in a professional, friendly manner...even taking his shoes off before walking into the living room! My partner and I were presented with many options for re-finishing the 14 year-old wooden plank panels than had become rather suffocating in their dark, unwelcoming state. With the help and guidance of Travis, we chose paint and trim colors and finishes, discussed timeframes and were left to mull everything over. We received a couple different estimates from Travis, chose the one that best fit our needs and budget, and offered Travis the job. He began painting shortly after the holidays, and gave us an opportunity to see a true professional at work. Travis was always on time as promised, was exceptionally neat, making sure that he kept our living area as neat as possible. He was also very welcoming...and very careful with our 4 cats, who became quite curious with his work. He took time to greet them daily, and gave 'em all a quick scratch on the noggin if they requested one. His gentle and friendly manner was such that these usually shy and skittish felines seemed to not see him as a "threat". This was a huge relief for me, as I am a sometimes overly concerned with their well-being. Travis was relaxed, yet always the consummate professional as he transformed our space into a bright, open area that we now love to be in. We were absolutely blessed to have this young man in our home, helping us with our redesign. He deserves more than a 5-star rating, and would definitely be contacted again when we continue our home remodel.
