R & K Complete Landscaping Service

So far (9/19/23) quality of work looks good. My issue is with quoted written estimate of $8,150. Estimate was not signed or dated. Then it was: you need a wall to support landscaping that he was doing for an additional $1400. . I ok'd it. But when he finished today the requested payment was $10,000 & that he had verbally quoted me $1800 for the wall (not the case). So far his team did quality work but GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING, SIGNED & DATED.

Back in April my husband hired R&K to do work on our back yard, tree removal, leveling it out, filling in a pond, and more He told my husband he would be here starting the 2nd week in may. The second week in may comes and by Wednesday I call R&K I leave a voicemail but never received a call back my husband calls on Friday and he answers and tells him he was doing storm work and will be here the 1st week in June so the first week in June comes and again no show, no call, no nothing so I call the second week in June and he answered and gives me his second excuse that he can’t get any of his workers to show up, which I understand but this is now his second excuse so I have a tough time trusting him. He tells me he will be here the last week in June and I said are you sure my kids are growing restless we wanted to put a pool and trampoline up, (which he knew back in April when we hired him) and he said yes he will definitely be there so I said okay. Well the last week in June comes, again no show, no call, no nothing. So I call and This call he was a complete a**hole to me telling me how busy he is and he has jobs from last summer he hasn’t even done, okay if that was true why didn’t you tell us that back in April why would you quote us multiple different times and not show up or even call. He promised he would be here the following week Wednesday or Thursday, I told him if he isn’t here by then that I’m done and will find someone else! Well here it is Friday and he never called and never showed up. I can not believe how unprofessional this man is, how does he even have a business when he is this unorganized,unprofessional, and rude. reading all the different reviews on different platforms this seems to be a huge problem for this man. Don’t even waste your time hiring him, look else where!!!!

hired him to redo my front porch and steps. it WAS flat, now, not so much, no where near being level. also, the retaining wall has been sliding away from the porch since he finished the job, he came back and "fixed" it twice (putting in some polymeric sand the second time, which btw polymeric sand is NOT a fix ), now im left with a mess. he did not put in a drain pipe (as he said he would) he took out the original concrete steps and said on a later "fixing" visit that "maybe we shouldnt have taken them out" and now the inside wall of my garage is deteriorating due to water seeping in, never had an issue with this before he worked on the front porch. the blocks on the steps are loose and falling off. i took a few off to re-glue them with versa-loc adhesive and was amazed to see liquid nails, yes, liquid nails (he denied using liquid nails in a subsequent conversation but 3 contractors that i showed the steps to confirmed the use of LN, heck, come look for yourself) . i treated him so nice and paid what he asked without complaining (were talking a $8500+ job), but unbelievably during the job he accused me of "talking sh*t" on him to other people, he offer no proof of this. i did not! and he knows that. (besides im not stupid enough to talk sh*t on a contractor thats still working on my house). as a matter of fact a neighbor from a few streets away came to me to warn me about him but i defended his work. now im stuck with redoing the mess he made, ive already had good, reputable contractors look at the job and they actually laughed .... beware people, i would not hire him to cut my grass. I made a HUGE mistake hiring and im still paying for it some 7 years later. if you need any evidence of his incompetence ill gladly give you my address and you can witness it for yourself. youve been warned. *Update* versa-loc porch and retaining wall. im adding pictures this time. *first picture shows the damage to my inside wall due to his poor workmanship in not putting in a drain pipe and not leveling the porch. *second picture shows just how un-level the porch is. ridiculous huh. *third picture shows liquid nails on a versa-loc product. if youve seen versa-loc adhesive you know this is not versa-loc adhesive! looks like liquid nails doesnt it? 3 quality professionals agree. oh i forgot to add to my first review that you DO NOT want him doing any electrical work either. he did not put a GFCI outlet on a line he ran to my pool filter. OH.. and this too. he cut my water line. and tried to cover it up without telling me. youve been warned! *Update* i wanted to attach another picture of what clearly is liquid nails that ray keller used instead of versa-loc glue. no professional would ever use liquid nails on versa-loc blocks and im sure versa-loc is not happy with his practice of using LN instead of versa-loc glue. also when i asked him about it he denied using liquid nails. a blatant lie. this man is NOT to be trusted.

He did excellent work. Came early, maneuvered the BobCat around many and quot;obstaclesand quot;, scooped and hauled away the dirt. Did the job pretty quickly and was friendly.

R and K Complete Landscape SVC removed two or three stumps, but in the meantime he totally destroyed the side of the yard, the grass. I do have to say that he got there trying to replant it. In the front he was to put in all new dirt there and put new seeds in and everything. I don't know how many seeds he planted because hardly anything grew.

They are reliable and do a reasonably good job, not perfect but reasonably good. There is easy access to them, if you complain about something they will come back. I would say the price is competitive. We've been using them for 15 years.
