Origins Granite

We completely regret our decision to use Origins Granite for our kitchen countertops Normally, you would expect that upgrading kitchen counters to granite would improve the value of your home. In our case, the installation by Origins Granite was so poorly done, that the value of our home has likely decreased, because no self-respecting buyer would ever make an offer without first having me take out the new counters and have them replaced by a company that can complete the installation properly. In our case, the countertop for the kitchen island was improperly installed. Instead of the overhang drawn up by the engineers, and approved by us, the counter edge tapers to a point where there is no overhang, and the supporting cabinet sticks out slightly beyond the counter edge. This mistake is on the most prominently visible edge of our kitchen island, and is the first thing visible when you enter our home. Everyone who has seen the counters has asked who completed the project so that they can avoid using a company with such little care for craftsmanship. For a company whose website claims “Exceptional Selection – Exceptional Quality,” I can say with certainty that the quality of the installation is far from exceptional. Our attempts to contact the owner and installation coordinator with Origins Granite have been completely ignored; they did however ask us to provide several online reviews because they claim that their business relies on word-of-mouth recommendations from satisfied customers. This customer is NOT AT ALL satisfied by the service or quality of an Origins Granite installation, and is faced with having to pay more money to have this very expensive disaster fixed. I DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, RECOMMEND USING ORIGINS GRANITE. Take your business elsewhere.

We are very unhappy with our experience at origins granite.They are quick to take your money and after that will make your kitchen renovation feel like a nightmare. It took 9 weeks to receive our countertop from our requested date. We've been ignored, disrespected and insulted throughout this process with minimal explanation or apology. When we finally received our countertop it came without our ordered faucet. The owner has said he'd call us to discuss the issue but unsurprisingly has not as he's chosen the rude alternative of ignoring us entirely. My husband went to lowes and is now installing a faucet paid for on our dime as we are in our 10th week without a functioning kitchen and can't take it anymore! They did try to provide us with a temp faucet but it was unusable and missing pieces.Please review the better business rating prior to using this company. Although our countertop is beautiful Id like to add that it also came with a crack. If we could do it all over again we'd choose anyone over Origins.

Company had more that six weeks to organize this job but on installation date we were informed that the sink that we purchased was on back order but they would install a temporary sink and install the one that we purchased as soon as it came in. We assumed that all of the plumbing would be done on the day of installation but was informed that the plumber would be at our house the following morning by 10 a.m. We waited until 11:30 and attempted to call Origins office manager to ask when the plumber was going to arrive. Left a voice mail asking for a return call, never got one. Called again, talked to a receptionist who promised to have the office manager call us back. Never received the call. Got into my car, drove up to the store and asked for the office manager who was sitting there talking on the phone. After his call he shook my hand and apologized for the mix up and called the plumber who was at another job site. At that point it was around 2:30 in the afternoon and the plumber said he could be at our place by 4. Having plans for the evening I said that wouldn't work and asked if he could be there in the morning. The office manager agreed and said that he would call the plumber back and confirm the appointment for the following morning at around 8:30. At 8:30 the next morning no plumber, at 10:30 no plumber. Called the office, no answer left a voice message asking for a return call, no return call. Called another number, talked to a young lady who informed me that the office manager was on the road but would try to call the plumber on his cell phone and call me back. About ten minutes later she called and said that he would be at our house by 11:30. She also told me that he, the plumber, explained to the office manager the day before that 8:30 would never work because he had another job to go to before he could get to us but the office manager never called to inform us of the change. By 11:30 he was there and within an hour he completed the job and was gone. It took almost a month to get the sink that we paid for back in Jan to be installed. What a nightmare. Its obvious that the term customer service means nothing to this company. The office manager should not be an office manager, he has no customer service skills at all.

Overall I am very pleased with the product and service. They offered good selection, a competitive price, and very short turnaround.  As committed, they came to the site and took measurements inside of a week, and delivered the finished product one week later.  Delivery and installation went  smooth, and the finished installation is awesome. Thanks Stacy (sales), Rich & Carl (installation) and Dave (helped bring in the monster island slab).

I thought they were totally incompetent.  Not professional.  I feel like they were trying to strong arm us into accepting an inferior product.
