Kind Hearted is kind of a funny name.  But it's an apt description of what they are.  We started taking our dog to Becky and Kevin when we moved to Hershey about 6 years ago.  We've tried very hard not to take him anywhere else, because they are the BEST.  Their facilities are fantastic -- humane, clean, and built with your pets in mind.  But the really great thing about Kind Hearted is the people who take care of your animals, or 'pet children' -- a title that always makes my husband cringe a little, but is really how they think of them.  Our dog always returns home happy and healthy.  And then goes back to Kind Hearted happily and without reservation -- like it's his second home.

We dropped them off a day before we left in case there were any issues, but the girls made themselves right at home!
Picked them up a week later and they were of course excited to see us, but no one was stressed out. Would definitely use them again!

Aunt Becky and Uncle Kevin are the best. I would not leave my pets anywhere else. I have a boxer and an elderly pug, (have had 4 dogs but unfortunately lost two due to age). They love it here. It is the only place that I feel I can go away and enjoy my self without worry. It is crystal clear that they LOVE dogs, my dogs come home healthy, happy and well cared for. A+ all the way!

They invited us to come and visit a few weeks before Carly was scheduled to stay. We had a tour of the facility and visited for about an hour. Uncle Kevin played with Carly while Aunt Becky asked questions and took detailed notes about Carly's personality, habits, needs, etc. I also requested that she be bathed while she was there. This is available at a reasonable cost while the dog is staying with them. Carly liked both of them and enjoyed our visit. It was comforting to know that she would be staying with nice people who would provide plenty of activity and special attention. They run a small operation allowing for individualized care for each of their "guests". They provide nature walks, play time, TV time, etc. They have convenient morning and evening drop-off/pick-up times Monday through Saturday and an evening schedule on Sunday. I dropped Carly off on a Saturday evening and left for my vacation on Sunday. I was able to call/text to check on her during my vacation. Only one text message went unanswered and I cannot blame them. I did not receive confirmation that the message was ever delivered. It could have been an issue with the cell phone company. I returned the following Sunday to retrieve her. Multiple pet "parents" arrive at the same time to drop-off or pick up their animals so they invite you in on a first-come, first served basis. This prevents confusion and conflicts between pets in the reception area. They keep the door locked so no one can accidentally let one of their guests slip outside. When it was my turn, I was happy to find my puppy, Carly, in wonderful condition. She was happy and didn't appear to have lost any weight. She was still trying to play with everyone when we were preparing to leave. She had been shampooed and was soft and white again. Uncle Kevin mentioned that it was hard to keep her out of the dirt after her bath. I'm not sure how they did it because I know how much she loves to get dirty! Carly adjusted well to coming home, I saw no signs that she was distressed or confused. Kind Hearted Pet Resort may charge a few dollars more than some of the big kennels but it is well worth it for the special care that they provide to their guests.
