He did an awesome job in my basement painting the concrete foundation. I kept checking on him to make sure things were going my way and he always seemed to anticipate that I wanted a quality job and I was certainly willing to pay him the time it took to do it. He did the brick landscaping for me this past summer. He will pretty much do most any unskilled job around the house. but he is NOT a contractor. if he does something wrong (which didn't happen with me) then you have to pay him the hours he works. But I like this guys work. He honestly works hard. But YOU must plan out the work. YOU must supply the materials and have them handy. If you fall short of materials necessary to do the job then you will wind up paying for the wasted time. He only does what you tell him. show him how you want your lawn mowed or cared for and leave the materials and tools for him to do it. ( lawn mower, gasoline etc).
Description of Work: He painted my bedroom and entire basement. Now, this guy isn't a contractor. What he does is what you tell him to do. You control the quality of his work. Tell him you want the details and he'll happily do it. He charges about $19/hour. And he doesn't give estimates and he doesn't go by contracts. He does time and you can supply the material. He also did some brick landscaping work for me this past summer. I worked with him and instructed him in what I wanted and as a result, the brickwork came out just as I wanted. If the work doesn't make you happy, it's because you did not guide him. He is what you call a "common laborer". Now with that said: this guys hustles. He works hard and goes at the job full bore. I told him to paint the bedroom, I told him I wanted the walls washed first and then spackle the dings in the wall and told him to remove the electrical receptacle covers and not paint over them. I removed the baseboard heater and told him to paint that part of the wall. He disassembled the ceiling fan and marked the blades so they would go back exactly as he took them off. In short the guy is conscientiousness about his work and he works hard. you just have to be there to guide him. You are buying his time.
