Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
I have been saving for 19 years to have this project done. I researched it for almost 2 years with Angie's List. I hired Veritas Remodeling, who went out of business in the middle of my job. Ted was the contractor for the job. He told me that it wasn't necessary to get a permit, which as it turns out, I do need. A header was not put in window, which I was told was going to be done. He neglected to put in an outlet for the new refrigerator. My new contractor had to take it back out and install an outlet. If something goes wrong with the washer/dryer, they will have to remove the refrigerator, a wall, and a door because that is the only way to get it out based on where they put the new electrical system. The doors for the laundry and the bathroom were not tracked, so they cannot be locked. I would have to take the wall out (including taking part of the shower out) to put in a track. The downstairs pipes are configured in such a way that when I use the shower, sink, or dishwasher, everything rattles. They were not cleaned out or replaced to make them flow freely, which he said he did. All of this is now on my shoulders to get fixed. I have a second contractor to fix most of these problems. Veritas offered to have Ted back out to correct the problems, but I decided that I did not want him back to my house based on his lack of work ethic and inability to do the job correctly. He had good days when I would see him pay attention to details, but most days he would come and go, only working a few hours at a time. There were often disagreements and one loud fight between him and the crew, including Ted yelling at me when I spoke to the young crew man and requested that he not drive off until he had calmed down. The only thing that would improve my opinion of him would be if he returned the money that I paid him directly so that I can pay the second contractor. No one should hire Ted Kenny for the sake of his health and because he does not seem capable to complete a job anymore.
