ERDENHEIM BICYCLE & FITNESS

Our two bikes, which were purchased at this store, were supposed to get tune ups for $80/ea. Gears had been skipping, etc. After spending $160 for this service at Erdenheim Bicycle and Fitness, we had to spend close to $100 while on vacation for repairs. My husband's chain was bad, his seat had some problem, etc. These are things which should have been corrected with his $80 tune up. I also had an issue with the owner not acknowledging a $75 gift certificate which my son had bought for me. I didn't realize it had an expiration date, and was saving it to use for future bike needs. While I admit my negligence, I tried to get the owner to make some sort of exception, after all I had been a loyal, long time customer and my young son had spent his hard earned money there. Plus I was going to use it to help pay for a bike rack which cost close to $175. I usually try to patronize small businesses even though I may pay more, I was seriously disappointed by this owner's lack of compassion under the circumstances and left feeling unappreciated . In the future I will deal elsewhere for my bike needs. (I eventually bought the bike rack at REI, by the way). While the gift certificate incident was bad enough, the emergency repairs while on vacation are inexcusable.
