I waited a few more days and hadn't heard from Sean so i called back again, and was told the same thing again. I again waited a few more days and called back again and was pretty much told the same thing yet again.
Later that day I rec'd by email what looked like a very rushed estimate.
I responded with a few questions since the estimate seemed very vague in comparison to the other estimates that i had rec'd and the estimate also did not address some of the work that i wanted to have done.
He never responded.
"Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We appreciate your business and hope you are enjoying your new garden this summer. Burke Brothers"
"Thank you for your kind comments. It was nice working with you again and we hope you are enjoying your new space. Burke Brothers"
Since it was a work day (in the middle of the week), I had to made arrangements to fit my schedule around his availability, which would have been fine if he had kept his appointment. Instead, at approximately 1 pm on March 28 (an hour before the appointment), Jonathan called to tell me that he had another meeting to go to and that he would need to reschedule. During this call, it was clear that he had no idea what services I was interested in, despite the fact that I had explained what I needed in detail to his receptionist when I originally made the appointment. Moreover, he could not actually reschedule during the call because he and quot;did not have his calendar on him.and quot; He finally called back late in the afternoon, at which time we rescheduled for Friday at 2 pm.
The next day, I got a call from someone from another company, Penn Turf, that said they had been given my name and that Jonathan and Burke Brothers would not be meeting with me or performing the services we had discussed. Penn Turf, however, does not even offer the services I was requesting.
I called back Jonathan from Burke Brothers to confirm that he had in fact asked a completely different company to call me to cancel my meeting with him, and he did. He said that after Burke Brothers had spoken with me the third time, they finally and quot;pulled up a mapand quot; and decided that my house was too far away for them to cut my grass, despite the fact that my home is within their service area.
All in all, I wasted nearly three weeks with Burke Brothers, during which time they inconvenienced me by blowing off our appointment, and showed an utter lack of professionalism at every turn. I would suggest looking elsewhere if you want a landscaping company that values professionalism and personal service.
"Please note we are a Design/Build firm that maintens clients homes that we design & Install. This caller started out needing everthing done, By the time we were ready to confirm the appointment , The above person was down to just needing a lawn cut. this is something that we do not offer, (1) The address is too far away from other clients homes,(2)We just don't cut lawns, We are a full service company.(3) Our adverts are under Landcaping , not Lawn cutting.These facts were explained to the above member."
"Firstly, we sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had with our company. We believe there was simply a misunderstanding of the services we provide. Burke Brothers does not supply mulch or any other landscape materials to the public, and anyone who calls for a delivery is referred to a local garden center. We strictly carry landscape materials for our own landscape installations. *Burke Brothers is a design build firm that focuses on the design and installation of residential and commercial master plans, however we work on projects of all sizes. January to mid-April is our ‘show season’ when we display exhibits at the Philadelphia Flower Show as well as the Macy’s Flower Show. During this time we do not have the capacity to give smaller projects the attention they deserve, so we will ask callers if they are willing to wait until summer for us to take on their project. We understand their project is important and if they cannot wait we kindly suggest they contact a company that is equipped to handle small projects more promptly. We appreciate your feedback and again we apologize for any misunderstanding that occurred during your phone conversation. We are always striving to improve our service and we will use this incident as a learning experience to prevent future miscommunications from occurring."
