Excellent. Did a great job. Reliable. Showed up when he said he would. Price was HALF what others wanted to charge me. Even did a small area of my driveway with leftover cement which was not part of the project.

Joe and his sons do incredible work. Joe is the hardest worker I have ever seen and a perfectionist to the T. He will walk you through the process step by step to let you know exactly what the finished job will look like. In addition he is completely honest as to what a job will cost and where/if you can save money throughout the process. If the job is going to cost you more he will also tell you that upfront as well. My family is so pleased with his work. It is very hard to find hardworking and honest construction workers anymore. Most workers are hired by big corporations. The work they do is often either shoddy and you find that they have cut corners, or they do good work but charge you a fortune. Joe is very fair and reasonable in his pricing. I could also tell Joe was a hard working individual when I found out he grows most of his own food and raises chickens and sells the eggs. This man never stops. You are guaranteed to be pleased with his work.

Joe arrived on time and proceeded to perform the work as indicated in the contract. The resulting concrete replacement and patch up not only looked good, but also functioned well. Joe displays a great deal of professionalism both in his dealing with his customers as well as in his job performance.

Joe was great from the estimate all the way through job completion. No unexpected issues arose during the job. Would certainly work with again and recommend to anyone.

Joe was quick to respond for an estimate but was very vague in what work would be performed for the money. That should have been a red flag, but he seemed trustworthy and there was hope of "old world craftsmanship". Joe took two days to complete the work, which was timely. Upon inspection of the completed job, I was very disappointed. I was not home during the construction, or I might have been able to address the problems as they arose. I don't feel it's the customers job though to have to point out deficiencies, that is why you hire a professional. While the actual concrete work was acceptable, there is so much more that goes into a trench drain. The trench drain, itself, was not recessed properly into the finished concrete. The manufacturer requires the drain to be 1/4 inch below the surface (if it's being driven over). My drain was installed equal to or above the surface of the driveway. That means that the full weight of the car will be on the (plastic) drain. After the first rainstorm, I also noticed that most of the water is running along the outside of the drain, because of the raised edge. There was also excess concrete on the plastic drain itself (sloppy work) and the drain covers were two different style (patterns). Joe did reluctantly replace the drain covers to match. In addition to all this, Joe's design to divert the water into the yard was flawed (according to all I know about the design of these systems). I had asked for schedule 40 PVC pipe to be used in the drain to the yard. Joe told me he wouldn't use that and instead chose flexible corrugated pipe. After the fact, I realize he did that so he could follow the contour of the yard and in turn not bury the pipe that deep. The exit for the drain was also buried underground! I highly doubt all that runoff water (if it even gets into the drain) would disperse properly (underground) into the clay soil of my backyard. The makeshift pond in my garden that holds rainwater for weeks would prove that fact. When I pointed out all these errors/problems to Joe, it's safe to say he fought my every concern. I was told that he's done things this way for 30 years and that he has done nothing wrong. There seems no reasoning with him and, in the end, he told me there was nothing else he would do and that I wouldn't get a refund. He also told me I should have done the job myself since I knew so much and wanted it done differently than he did. As a "band aid" I dug up the end of the pipe in the yard myself, at my expense, and attached hard PVC pipe for strength. I also regraded the soil, at the exit, to allow the water to flow into the yard as it should. Have you ever seen a house gutter or drain pipe not exit to "daylight" (into a yard away from the house)? I haven't. I really feel slighted and am very disappointed with the quality of work performed by some "professionals" these days. A quality job seems so hard to come by anymore no matter what the price. I cannot recommend Joe for the job he provided to me and for his disservice to me upon finding many mistakes.

Mr.Lazzaro was professional. He promptly responded to our inquiry. He showed up when he said he would, did a first rate job and was obviously and justifiably proud of the result.. It was also a pleasure to watch a real pro at work.

Joe is a very hard worker and goes the extra mile to make sure you are pleased with the results. He completed the job by himself in one day. Very professional. We are very happy with the end result. Would recommend him to anyone.

Contacted Joe's wife and he called made arrangements to come over and give an estimate. Arrived on time gave me the best way to do the job very professional. We agreed on price and he called to let me know when he could come and do the job. Arrived on time and finished about the time it would take to do. Cleaned up the area before he left. Excellent all the way around.

Joe was a pleasure to work with and his pricing was very reasonable. In talking with him about the scope of the work, it was clear that he wanted to do the job right. He removed the existing concrete and set the formwork one week and then returned the next with one assistant and a concrete truck to do the pour.
Joe provided a very high level of craftsmanship and level of service.
The concrete has cured and looks great.
We would highly recommend Joe for any residential concrete work.
We will be using Joe's services in the future for the next phase of work which includes an additional concrete pad as well as a masonry retaining wall and steps.

I called seven different companies and Mr Lazzaro was the only one that would do the work. At least three other companies said the job was too small. Two other companies promised to provide estimates but failed to do so. Mr Lazzaro was on time, professional and he answered all our questions. He agreed to remove the sidewalk panels and to return when the tree was removed to pour the concrete. He did all the work by himself was effecient and friendly. We will definitely use his services again.

On the first day he repaired and replaced a stone wall. He also removed the old sidewalk blocks and prepared the base and frame for a new cement sidewalk.
On the morning of the second day, the cement truck arrived to pour the cement. Mr. Lazzaro carefully worked the cement into a nicely patterned sidewalk. He also put some cement in areas around the wall.

Joe worked at a quick pace especially considering the heavy lifting and shoveling involved. He did not waste time. He was polite and cleaned up better than any contractor I have worked with. The wall looks great now and thanks to Joes honest work ethic he saved me money. I highly reccomend Lazzarro Construction.

Lazzaro construction completed a concrete patio and walkway/stairs on the side of our home. The patio was pretty standard, but the walkway/stairs provided a bit of challenge due to the slope of the yard. Joe Lazzaro did nearly all of the work, except for the day the concrete arrived. He did all of the digging by hand and formed everything in about two days. There were some challenges with the weather, but that work was done as promptly as practical. He arranged for a concrete mixing truck come on a third day, and he had some helpers with him to transport the concrete. Our job did not support a pumping truck, so it was all hand work. Joe did all of the finishing. A couple of days later he came back and removed the forms.
I was really impressed with Joe's work. He is one of the hardest working men I have ever observed. The quality of the work is excellent, and he was flexible with some adjustments I requested after the forming was placed. Overall he did a great job, and I will be calling him again soon to get some additional concrete work done this spring.

Manually dug and installed french drain. Seemed to use enought gravel and landscaping cloth so I won't have future issues with standing water. Showed up early and was done by early afternoon. Did all the work by himself. Seems to be working well as of now, but big test will be in the spring when we have a majority of the issues.

Joe did exactly what he proposed. Redesigned the new stairs to meet code requirements. Presented us with options and a template of the new stairs before beginning work. The work was done within two days, with excellent clean up and instructions to care for the new stairs. We were quite pleased.

Mr. Lazzaro is a fantastic worker. It was a day with temperatures in the 90's with high humidity, and he worked until the job was completed. The finished product was very well done. In evaluating the job, he was very knowledgable, and fair in price. We would definitely recommend him, and we plan to use his serivces again.

His name was Joe Lazzaro. We have used him before and he is a wonderful guy. We were without a water heater because we needed to get the floor poured underneath it and he came out specially no morning to get just the pad under our water heater poured so we could get our hot water put back in. He is wonderful, accommodating and super. We can't say anything bad about him. We would use him again in a heartbeat.

They were fine. They poured good concrete and the price was very reasonable. They were very professional and they told us when they were going be doing their work. They usually enforce them to pour in the concrete in the right way, and their price was fine. I will use them again in the future.
