Mom's kitchen sink was clogged. Brother #2 tried liquid drain opener & plunging to no avail. He then disconnected trap from metal pipe coming from the wall to use a thin hand-cranked snake, tried to reconnect trap and pipe fitting & failed. Plumber was called. Next day, Jim DiNucci arrives with 2 guys & within minutes of arrivals declares "he doesn't like to work on single trap sinks", makes a drawing showing what he intends to do by adding another trap under sink. Mom and Brother #2 agree to plan WITHOUT ASKING PRICE! Jim DOESN'T OFFER ESTIMATE. Two hours later, hands bill to Mom for $1,279!! Not a joke. Not only had he added another trap, he replaced the sink baskets and strainers, which didn't need replaced. He need to use a sawzall for job....cost $175.00 to get it off the truck. To use electric snake ....cost $150 to get it off the truck. $22 for an aerator that cost less than $4 from Home Depot. $198 for the parts that we're used. And $680 for 4 man hours of labor. Jim only charged for two guys work. He sat on stool and supervised mostly. Remember, the sink was clogged, the trap had nothing to do with the clog.This was a make-work gig for Jim. After a phone call from Brother #3, Jim refunded $300 to Mom. So for a clogged kitchen sink it cost Mom $979. Buyer beware of DiNucci Plumbing.
