R Johnston & Sons Inc

I've been a customer for over 10 years. The company has hired new office people who are extremely rude. They don't return phone calls. I asked to speak to Bob the owner, I received an email that he isn't going to call me back and they no longer will be servicing my property. This is all due to the office screwing up and being flat out disrespectful. They do not care about their customers and just told me so.

Our bathroom is small but it was a big job - everything was removed down to the studs. The job was done for a reasonable price (much less than some of the other quotes I got) and in a timely and professional manner. The end result was fabulous! The guys who did the work were clean, friendly and professional. The job site was kept very tidy while the work was being done which I appreciated very much since I had to live with it. The work was done for the price that was estimated at the beginning. No hidden or added costs. Dealing with contractors can be a headache, but not with these guys!

Perfect could not of asked for a better contractor, they care about us and they care about the job they are doing for us.  This contractor has completed many jobs for us and we have never been disappointed.  They are on time and at a great price.  They have also done work for family members with the same great work.  We even have the landscaping part of his crew doing out lawn work.  Can't say enough good things about this provider.

Our home was damaged severely by a tree that was uprooted during hurricaine Sandy and hit our home. You can't imagine how violated we felt when this occured and how scared we were when we were told we had to leave our home. We were blessed to have R Johnston and Sons, Inc come to our home THE NIGHT OF THE HURRICAINE to evaluate the extent of damage. Bob Johnston was on the scene not even and hour and 1/2 after the tree hit our home. Michelle, his wife and office manager/assistant/do-it-all, phoned us that night to tell us they would be back at 7 am to get started. They would have started right away, but the winds were too strong (imagine that, we were in the middle of a hurricaine afterall!!). To our amazement, the crew was there as expected and when we arrived to our home at 7:15 am, they were already working to get us patched up.
It has been nearly 2 months since our home was hit and Bob and his crew have been on the job 6 days a week without fail. He has been helpful beyond words throughout this entire process which, as you can imagine, is overwhelming to someone outside of the field of contruction and insurance. He helped us through the claims process, has made himself available on a regular basis and keeps us apprised of the progress and set-backs, although there have been very few of the later. His wife Michelle is fantastic too!
We can't say enough good things about Bob, Chris (his son), Bart, Ed, John M, John F and the rest of the crew. They have all been a pleasure to have in our home and treat it with respect. Surely, we will be glad to have the construction completed, but should we ever have a need for contractor services in the future, we will call R Johnston and Sons without hesitation.

They put in 2 new bathrooms and redid my whole second floor. They had to put in 11 truces. They even got down to cleaning the carpets. They advocate for the customer and they are fantastic. I've had other work done by them recently and they are always great. They won't talk you into getting something done if you don't need it.

This company came immediately and performed temporary repairs to the roof to keep damage to a minimum. They then arranged for all the personal belongings (furniture, clothing, etc) to be removed, stored, dry-cleaned or destroyed, if deemed unsalvageable.

They worked closely with the township code officers and insurance adjusters to make sure everything was covered that should be. They were unable to start the roofing until there was good weather forecast, which held it up for some time, but through no fault of theirs. Once work began, they arrived every day as planned and the work was done efficiently and professionally. They not only did spotless painting and sanding, but also did excellent clean-up afterwards. There are still some minor repairs to be done, but to be scheduled at my convenience after the holidays.

The amount is not jumping out at me because it was in conjunction with my homeowners insurance company. I have a sense they were fairly priced but it was tied up with the insurance settlement. Their quality was very good. I am considering using them for work in my bathroom.

I was very happy with the work. They did a great job and always showed up when they said they would. The price was good as well. My only recommendation would be that they provide customers with a cell phone number or be more available for questions or concerns.

THEY WERE RIGHT AT THE FIRE SITE, READY TO BOARD THINGS UP, WHEN THERE WAS A DISCREPANCY WITH A BILLING CHARGE, THE OWNER WAS NICE AND MORE THAN WILLING TO WORK SOMETHING OUT FAIRLY. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED.

BOBBY AND HIS MEN ARE GREAT! THEY ARE NEAT AND CLEAN AND VERY GOOD AT THEIR JOBS. THEY ARE PROMPT AND HONEST. I WILL HIRE THEM AGAIN, FOR ANY WORK I NEED DONE AT MY HOME. THIS IS THE NEATEST CONTRACTOR THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN! WE WERE ABLE TO CONTINUE OUR LIVES EVEN WITH THE WORK GOING ON. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CONTRACTOR TO EVERYONE. THEY ARE WONDERFUL
