STAY AWAY FROM VERNON MAY!!!! Not only did this contractor do whatever he felt like without consulting me first. He destroyed an existing boxwood and damaged my new fence. His crew also crushed the top of my septic tank. Instead of paying for a new one, he glued all the pieces back by hand. For the boxwood and fence he did nothing. When I pointed out that his crew had obliterated the boxwood he replied "Well, I don't know everything they do." He is the owner, by the way. Enough said. Now, 6 months later, I have several trees dying and from doing a bit of internet research I can see they were not planted correctly. My main complaint is that Vernon May did whatever he wanted to on my property and charged me for it. He never once called me to ask my permission, to tell me he wanted to change our plans, to inform me that he removed trees that were supposed to remain. Every change in plan, every damaged item....I stumbled across on my own. Please stay away from this company at all costs. The owner does not listen. I believe he purposely preys on the elderly. My Mother and her two elderly neighbors were both taken advantage of by this man. Her neighbors also bought several trees that are now dead. Vernon May is refusing to pay for these trees. In fact, he won't even return their calls to tell them he won't replace the trees (with about half of the one year warranty gone by). We all purchased trees around the same time. And ALL of us are stuck with dead or dying trees. Trust me, this man will take advantage of you if he can. Stay far away from this company.
