We had our measurements but they kept coming up with a higher price and a much higher price then we expected. They could not explain to us where they got their cost. They finally said they were charging for waste (where the kitchen sink was cut out and such). It turned out they were charging based on linear square footage instead of actual square footage. We did find a company that charged on actual and how fabulous work done. We explained you can't charge for waste and if they were we wanted the granite they weren't using. Upon not coming to an agreement we canceled our order. They kept a percentage of our deposit. We took them to court and they did not show up so we won. They then appealed it so we had to go to court again. They did not show up again so we won. That was in 2005 and we still have not received our money. The best we could do was file a lien against them. We reported to the BBB when this started, but they said since it was a pending court case they would not do anything at the time.

ONLY BECAUSE VOLPE OFFERED THE TILE WE LIKED DID WE GO FORWARD. DURING THE PROCESS OF CHOOSING THE TILE THEY WERE SOMEWHAT HELPFUL, BUT WE ALWAYS FELT THEY HAD AN ATTITUDE THAT THEY WERE DOING US A FAVOR AND NOT EMPATHETIC TO OUR CONCERNS OR FOCUSED ON DETAILS. THEY WERE DISORGANIZED. WE ALWAYS HAD TO FOLLOW-UP DURING THE PROCESS. OFTEN THEY DIDN'T RETURN PHONE CALLS. AND BECAUSE THEY CHOSE NOT TO VISIT OUR HOME THERE WERE SURPRISES DURING THE INSTALLATION PROCESS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. WHILE THE TILE WAS EVENTUALLY INSTALLED TO OUR SATISFACTION, WE HAD A DISPUTE RE: THE SALES TAX THEY CLAIMED. AFTER CONFIRMING WITH THE PA REVENUE DEPT, WE INFORMED VOLPE THT SALES TAX WAS NOT DUE ON THIS SALE REFERRING THEM TO PARTS OF PA TAX CODE 31.11, 31.6 AND 31.12 @ WWW.PACODE.COM. WE HAVE PAID ALL THAT WE OWE VOLPE BUT THEY DO NOT RETURN OUR PHONE CALLS ABOUT FINISHING THE JOB WHICH CONSISTS OF TRIMMING THE BOTTOM OF FRENCH DOORS INTO THE SUNROOM WHICH THE OWNER HAD PROMISED TO DO.

THEY WERE VERY COMPETITIVE COMPARED TO PRODUCTS OFFERED BY SIMILAR BUSINESSES. THEY HAD THE COLOR AND FINISH THAT WE WANTED AND THEY WERE WILLING TO CUT THE TILES TO OUR SPECIFICATIONS.
