+ -1 moreThis company is rated an "A" on Angie's List as well as on the Trex website as an experienced installer. Since a Trex deck is what we interested in, I decided to contact this company for an estimate. First, there is no way to leave a general message for a call back. There are 4 different names to choose from for voice mails, so within a week we left messages on all of them. It took a week for Darin to return our message. He made an appointment to come to our home. He did arrive and spoke with my husband about our ideas and said he would promptly put together some information and samples (he brought nothing with him) and get back to us, That was the beginning of April. It is now the middle of June and have never heard back from them. Our deck has been replaced by another contractor.

+ 0 morePERFECT!!!! We are absolutely thrilled with our new deck and Steptoe Siedzkowski Custom Builders. We are at a loss for words.... they simply did an amazing job in a short amount of time and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE NEEDING A CUSTOM BUILT DECK!!!! We met with Darin Keiser from Steptoe Siedzkowski Custom Builders, Inc. (Custom Decks) - (610-558-2332) and upon the initial meeting, he came fully prepared with samples of various types of decking, took measurements, discussed our needs/wants and the next day provided us with a sketch/proposal. He was easy to talk to and was very informative. He even offered a few suggestions for things we had not thought of. He followed-up with us to see if we had any questions or needed any further information. He was very thorough. I would most definitely use this company again. They are trex deck pros! :-)
Description of Work: Contacted MULTIPLE contractors to obtain quotes on constructing a larger deck, a TREX deck, before deciding to go with SSCB (Steptoe Siedzkowski Custom Builders). Permit obtained by SSCD Old deck demolished and discarded, new footers then dug and poured by Richard Steptoe and his Father. Cleaned up/swept all dirt that had been tracked onto driveway/sidewalk/street by equipment. Securely placed boards to cover all the footer holes to help protect from the rain that was due the next day. Richard and his father were both very friendly and pleasant. Later that afternoon, all the decking material was delivered to our home. (A 50% deposit was required at this time). On Friday, four contractors arrived early, by 7:30am, and worked diligently on constructing the new deck. They were extremely professional, quiet and worked very hard. Although it was sunny that day, the weather was cold and windy. On Monday, five contractors returned to complete the installation of the deck. It only took two days to complete the entire project. (A third visit was required only for a couple hours to finish the deck light installation.) We also had vinyl fencing installed around the deck by SSCB.... which really looks sets the deck off nice.
