I started to refinish a beautiful old vanity. Half way in I realized I was I in way over my head. Someone had tried refinishing it before me and I thought I could not only fix what that person ruined but make it ten ones better. After realizing that I made it worse, I called The Furniture Doctor. They were going to deliver it back to me but I opted to pick it up at their shop. I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!!!! I could not believe what these artists did to my vanity. It's absolutely exquisite. They were incredibly accessible, more than reasonably priced and they actually turned what I thought I would have to, broken hearted, throw away back into a beautiful, frequently commented on vanity. Furniture Doctor of Delaware County Review I have a 9-piece kitchen dining set. The chairs have loose screws and are wobbly. Furniture Doctor was willing to tighten them. I dropped off the first two chairs and gave them all the screws less one. When finished, I was told that they took the two chairs all apart and re-glued them back together. I was surprised that the bill was $125 per chair x 2 = $250. Upon a questioning complaint, they reduced the bill to $225. I paid $750 for the entire set in 2010 (table and eight chairs), and I could buy a new set today for approximately $1000. At $125 per chair to tighten, it would cost me $1000 to have all the chairs tightened. I should have thrown them away and purchased a new set. Furniture Doctor (Jack Groswith) never gave me an estimate, and I foolishly never asked for one. Jack says he did, but he did not. I am not faulting the quality of their work, and I do not doubt that Jack is a fine, honest man. However, I am very unhappy that I was never given a cost estimate to tighten the chairs, and that they would fix them for a greater cost than they are worth without giving me an estimate before proceeding. When I paid for them and picked them up, they had no bill or receipt to give me. A very informal business. I rate them 2.5 stars. Not giving me a cost estimate before proceeding = 1 star. This company responded quickly on a weekend to deal with an emergency water leak into our kitchen cabinets. Because of that, we were able to minimize water damage to the wooden cabinets and dry them out quickly. Their charges were very fair for this weekend job. We were very glad to find this company through Home Advisor. Thank you all for your help!!

Jack is a great job. He built a new drawer for my cabinet, superior workmanship.

Jack was very responsive and very knowledgeable about all things wood & finishes. I had two teak chairs that I botched up trying to refinish them myself. He fixed my botched job and the chairs came out beautiful. Also, when his son delivered the chairs back, I showed him my wood kitchen table that had milky spots on it due to hot plates being set on it. He had a spray that took up the spots in seconds. I couldn’t believe it! I thought I would have to have the whole table refinished. I wouldn’t hesitate in using them again in future projects.

Jack worked hard around our schedule to ensure we had our large sectional sofa back in time for the Easter Break when we had all our kids home with guests. He was a life saver and we got our awesome sofa back! almost like new from when we first purchased it over 10 years ago! The value in hiring him was palpable as we would have spent 4 times what we spent to repair the sections to replace the whole leather sofa with a new one. We are already working on selecting fabric for our next project for him!!

The job in stabilizing the chairs were good but the craftsmanship was fair. Glue was protruding outside the joints and the backing did not line up with the wood framing. The reupholstering overall looked really good but the support of the seat was terrible. I sunk down so much, I needed a pillow to raise myself to the table. I also ordered 2 addition yards of fabric and told Jack to give me the remaining fabric so I could make pillows. Never saw the additional fabric.

Great and timely work. Fixed kitchen chairs that have been broken or poorly functioning for years.

they did a great job refurbishing my wife's bench. they removed all the nicks and scratches ad looks brand new! their price was worth the work they performed. i would hire them again!

I have needed to have the two pieces he repaired fixed for some time, and the whole process was extremely smooth. He also proposed a solution for a problem in our kitchen.

He showed up on time (within 24 hrs) Fixed the problem, cabinet door works perfectly

Jack stopped by to view the problem this past Sunday since he was going to be in the area. Being inquisitive to the situation, he tried something and it worked. The fix was relatively quick given the problem seemingly at hand. He also did a slight touch up of the finish which had been scraped away due to the door binding on the cabinet.
