The Christie Group

This is an update to my original review. Although the work done looked very nice, the quality has not been good. Dan Spohn, who was the construction manager for this project, has been informed about the shoddy workmanship and has not made any efforts to fix the problem.

The entire house was repainted, and within a few months of completion, the paint was chipping and peeling in the living room, dining room and the ceiling leading up to the second floor. He agreed to come and re-paint, canceled several of the times he was scheduled to come out, and then quit returning my calls.

Last night we discovered a leak under our kitchen sink. We used a Big Deal for a plumber, who just left my house. The plumber said the work done by Dan and his crew was done illegally, (both bowls have to have their own trap, and they don't),  and fixing it would cost between $300-$500. 

I would never utilize Dan Spohn's services again.

Dan Spohn and his staff at the Christie Group,were the GC's for a very complex renovation of a old manufacturing space and a former grocery store that were transformed in to 2 Loft Apartments.  This project had a very tight budget and an even tighter time frame for completion.  The project was completed on time and on budget.  The project has been featured in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette placing 2nd place in 2011's large renovation competition.  I have used his company for mulitple other projects since then including roofing, masonary, minor repairs, painting and other.
