About us

At Resnick Roofing & Contracting we have one primary goal in mind; to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers from start to finish. To achieve this, we keep it simple as we only offer The Best Products, The Best Installation, and The Best Warranty. Equally as important, we offer full transparency to our customers. We know the home improvement industry is known for tricks and ploys and forceful salespeople who are directed to “close” their customers on site. Our approach is the antithesis. In fact, in addition to meeting with Resnick Roofing & Contracting, we always recommend our customers meet with other contractors before making a final decision. We do this because we are confident they will be able to see the difference. From our first interaction with the customer to the last, our customers know exactly what to expect with no surprises as we set clear expectations from start to finish. We feel this is the only fair approach. In business since 2006, Adam Resnick, our Principal & Founder, has over 25 years in the business, working in all segments from installer, to distribution, to manufacturing, and most recently overseeing sales and distribution for the entire Southeast region for GAF, the world’s largest roofing manufacturer. While we are a small, local business, we have a very large footprint. With over 40 Sales, Service, and Installation Vehicles on the road daily, you’ve likely seen us in your backyard. In terms of credentials, we pride ourselves in training and certifications. But nothing validates our service and quality platform more than positive reviews from satisfied customers. With a simple online search for Resnick Roofing & Contracting you will find just that. From handwritten notes of satisfaction, to 5-star ratings on Google/Facebook/Guildquality, to A ratings with the Better Business Bureau.

From my first contact with Resnick Roofing through the completion of my roofing project, I received fast, courteous and excellent service. My main consideration was that I wanted a quality job with an experienced company and that is what I received from Resnick. I would recommend Resnick Roofing to anyone looking for quality service. I thank everyone who I was in contact with at Resnick for making this a good decision when it came to hiring Resnick to install my new roof. Thank you,

We initially called Resnick Roofing after seeing positive reviews on Angie's List for a roof inspection due to a leak. Craig arrived to evaluate and recommended a roof replacement, which I knew was about due, and was not simply a sales tactic. He was very upfront, provided recommendations on things I could do myself to prep for it. Craig was also very up front and stated they would not be the cheapest if I was going to get estimates, but it was for good reason. After going through the entire process and spending $17,000, Craig was not wrong. The customer service was top notch. The workmanship was excellent. We were assigned a project manager, Jordan. Jordan kept in touch with us, and was always reachable via cell or email. If you want excellent service and workmanship, I highly recommend them. We will need gutters and siding in the future and will use them again. Their communication throughout the entire process was great and we used Resnick based on previous reviews. Those reviews were spot on.

Fabulous experience from the initial quote to the installation and final checks. Everyone at the company was responsive and just real nice people to work with. While I won't need a new roof for a long time, I would 100% recommend to others.

Excellent craftsmanship and professionalism. Company and crew very communicative and clear. Always on time and cleaned up wonderfully. Sales rep took pictures with a drone and gave a very specific proposal. The end result looks great! Very satisfied and will definitely work with them again. Although I put “b” for price, I suppose it was worth dealing with a dependable company.

From our first interaction with Resnick in which we requested a quote, and throughout the process, we could not have been more pleased. Everyone with whom we spoke was customer-service oriented and responded timely to any communication. The old roof was taken off and the new one installed in just two days, and they made sure that any area with potential for leaks (dormers, chimneys, etc.) was properly reinforced and sealed. Our property was cleaned up spotlessly. The slate had been installed with copper nails, so they had to get on their hands and knees, looking through the grass, to make sure all those copper nails were found and removed. They had been recommended to me, and I am so glad they were!

Short version: I would not hire them again nor recommend them based on my experience. I’ve worked with MANY contractors on this house and my last and this is only one of two that really upset me and caused me to lose my cool. I think the roof work is probably done correctly. If they damage something, they’ll only half fix it and call it good enough. Ask as many questions as you can think of up front and make sure every detail is in clear writing and communicate questions in email so you have a “paper trail”. Take your art off the walls before they arrive. And then prepare for a mess in your landscaping and parking areas, including nails, screws, and pieces of metal. Make sure your spare tire is aired up, you’ll need it; I had two flat tires because of them. The workers lack attention to detail and are generally careless. I’ll note that the owner is a stand-up guy and takes pride in his company and is upset that I had a bad experience and wants to make it right. I have a 125 year old house with a slate roof. I kept the slate because it is in great condition and had Resnick replace all the flashing in the valleys and on dormers and rebuild/reline 3 box gutters. I had high hopes for Resnick based on the many very good reviews and on what they had to say when they initially came out. It was a very close call between Resnick and another company and I chose Resnick because I thought it would be a better deal in the end since their contract was all inclusive and the other company wanted X dollars “plus wood replacement”. I’ll start with the positives because they do have some things going for them. The good: • Great sales team. They seemed to have their act more together than any other company I vetted. And I got the impression that Mr. Resnick was proud of his company and strives to be one of the best roofing companies in Pittsburgh. The good: Workers showed up every day it wasn’t raining. I think their finished work is probably mostly good. The foremen who were here seemed intelligent and knew what they were doing. Hauled away two pallets for me (wasn’t theirs) that I did not want. The bad: There seemed to be an overall lack of respect for my house and property, a lack of care, and a lack of attention to detail among the whole crew. They set the tone on day one with breaking blocks in my retaining wall, second when they smeared paint on to try to pass off as a piece of trim, and it only continued from there. A company should not make a customer angry to the point of yelling at them. I’m not sure if I can convey how irritated and disappointed I am with Resnick Roofing. Communication - 1) We had a little bit of a misunderstanding about the scope of work. I told them that I wanted all the flashing on the roof replaced (except around the chimneys) so that I don’t have to deal with the roof again. They omitted from the contract the flashing that goes under the shingle where the dormer sides meet the roof. There IS supposed to be flashing there and it was leaking in that area on two dormers, so how could that have been overlooked? I asked about it in an email and they confirmed that it is included in the contract. However, the workers weren’t going to replace that flashing until I pressed them. I don’t get the sense that they were trying to cheat me, but that is a big screw-up. Make sure every detail of your scope of work is in writing! 2) No one bothered to knock on the door and ask my opinion when a decision needed to be made until after I sent two polite emails and then yelled at the Field Operations Director about how unhappy I was with how things were going. E.g. We can’t get the exact molding that you have right now, do you want us to piece in something similar or change the look completely with a different profile, or…? 3) I negotiated the contract amount down slightly. They promised there would be a reduction on the final invoice for that amount, but that was forgotten about or not communicated to their office manager. 4) This is part on me, but they should really tell people to take any pictures and art off their walls upstairs before they start. I had one piece fall off the wall and break which also chipped paint off of woodwork. Damage – 1) Day one, they broke two blocks in my fairly new retaining wall with their ladder. 7 weeks later, this was “fixed”, as in they only replaced one damaged block and then ground it down to match the damage on the other block rather than properly replacing both blocks. Unprofessional at best. After I reported this damage, the workers complained that it was a weak spot in the wall and it should only cost $20 to fix as if it wasn’t their fault! 2) They didn’t even try to be careful with the landscaping. Scattered rotten chunks of wood all through mulch, which we just laid down, and they flattened some plants with falling debris because they didn’t bother to carefully lower things to the ground. They walked through my garden without care. It almost takes some skill to stunt a mint plant! They sprayed something that caused spots to burn into the leaves on our giant hosta plants. 3) They left nails and screws in my gravel parking area which caused me to get two flat tires (which they did pay for). 4) They left holes in my siding from their ladder anchors. 5) Their ladders took paint off my house and they did not bother to repaint it even though they did have paint which I provided. Did they not notice or not care? Mess – They don’t have or use tarps, at least not on my property. After I complained the first time, I heard them saying that they didn’t know where they could go to get tarps that were cheap. I understand that roofing is messy, but this was over the top and carelessness. 1) We went to the neighbor’s property and picked up debris out of his yard and landscaping. 2) Left debris, broken slate, a water bottle, and a tape measure in my gutter for weeks and didn’t clean it up even after I mentioned it. They wanted to wait until the end of the project. I didn’t ask them to do this because I wanted to be a jerk, I wanted it done because I didn’t want that stuff to wash down into the downspout and plug up my sewer lines. I leaned out a window above the gutter and cleaned what I could. 3) Left many nails & screws in my gravel parking area because, again, they don’t have or use tarps and did a bad job at using the magnet sweeper. I had to buy my own magnet sweeper to make sure nothing was left, and it did pick up a hand full of nails/screws that they missed. Something I should not have had to do. 4) Sawdust everywhere. I’ve cut wood with an electric saw plenty of times outside and never made that kind of a mess. Lack of care and attention to detail – 1) Instead of properly replacing crown moldings around the box gutters, they tried to get away with using a smaller profile and then just smearing a red line on (red is the accent color on my trim work) in place of a smaller piece of molding and call it finished. They properly fixed it after I complained. 2) The slates in the front valleys are wavy/uneven/not in a straight line like they were. 3) Slammed their ladder against at least one window and the side of the house while taking them down. I hope it didn’t break the seal between the glass panes, but I won’t know until it’s too late to ask them to replace the windows. 4) There is still cracked rotten wood on the soffit part of the box gutter that is visible. I wonder what else is left that I can’t see… 5) They didn’t handle the copper with gloves, nor did they polish it. The downspouts are tarnishing unevenly and will soon look really bad. Mr. Resnick did assure me that after a while the patina will look uniform.

Very professional all around starting with Kevin (salesman), Bill (dumpster driver extraordinaire), Joel and crew (these are the guys who got it done) and Kim (ofc for schedule and billing). Initially skd for mid/late JUN but was thankfully moved up to 3Jun as the impetus for replacing the roof was a leak that partially destroyed a bedroom ceiling. Was also skd for 2 days but completed in 1 and again fortunate as we had lots of rain the following day -- and actually an 80% chance of rain was predicted for 3Jun as well (never materialized) -- but the crew gambled wisely and got it done! Cleanup was excellent especially as old roof was deposited in pieces down a tarp chute which also mostly covered the gravel driveway in that area...but nails have a way of traveling and several sweeps were made with magnetized tools to collect virtually all...and we've had no flat tires over 3wks+ later. The roof looks great, we've had no leaks nor other issues and even my neighbor made an unsolicited comment on the very nice appearance. The price as quoted was the price we paid with no add'l items. The last roof ran for 23 years....this one should outlast us.
