They were two hours late, the excuse being there was an emergency. In April there are no emergency. They never called I had to call them,in fact when I left a message for the manager to call, never heard from them. Will never use again.

I have a policy with a gas company. If you have anything wrong, you have to call them and then they call somebody. They were provided by the gas company. I didn't pay anything because it was covered under my policy with the gas company. It was fine. They were here in a timely manner and they knew what they were doing. They put in a first class part and there was no problem.

The technician arrived exactly when the dispatcher said that he would and he went right to work. The furnace was fixed within an hour and it has never run better. The technician was very friendly and professional. It was outstanding service and I would recommend Max C. Smith Company to anyone.

Your company was schedule to full fill your Planned Maintenance Agreement
on May 11,2015 at 10:30 a.m.  On   May 11,2015 @ 10:30 I get a phone call they had to
cancel the schedule appointment.
why did they not call @ 9.am?  what company waits for the appointment time
to cancel?
when we reschedule they call again ,to reschedule OUR RESCHEDULE 
appointment first leaving a voice message with one time, then giving us another
time  When the company is finally able to send
someone he is LATE, with the excuse we are 45 minutes away,and was rude about it. We have done
business with this company before they know how long it takes. We had work done
with companies who travel longer,and get here on time the first time.  When I asked to speak to the owner of the company listed on Angies list I am told he is no longer part of the company. If he is no longer part of the company, why is his name is listed?

Overall, very pleased - new system is fantastic, very quiet inside and out and does a much better job cooling.  Joe, the sales rep, was also excellent - very responsive before, during and after.  Installers were professional, very neat, and worked very hard to get the job done.  Was a pretty straightforward job overall, but the location where the air handler had to go was tight and they had to be creative with pipe routing, drainage, etc -- they made it work very well and better than how it was originally.  
Only minor complaints - reason for the "B" under professionalism -- more along the lines of communication: 1) there was a nearly 2 week lag between deposit and scheduled appointment - I would have like to have been told this would be the timeline in advance.  Perhaps, my fault for not asking, and it was during the stretch of hot days, so I know they were busy, but yeah - was a bit more of a delay than I was hoping  2) Minor electrical issue during install that I should have been alerted to by the installers -- was handled professionally after the fact, but it should have been brought to my attention early on.  
Pricing was excellent for the equipment provided.  
System qualified for some rebates which they have assisted me in getting approved.
I would gladly have them in again and would recommend them to others.  Will likely have them replace my boiler this year or next.

They fixed our furnace before we moved out of our old house. They were actually really great because we needed it done almost immediately and they fit us in and came out. They had to fabricate a special piece because it was not to code or something like that and they did it all in 2 days which was great because we had 3 days to move out. I was really pleased that they did it so fast.

They came and gave us a quote a day after we called them.  A few days later, after we got 3 more quotes, we called them to accept their quote.  They scheduled us for 5 days later.  (This was in the middle of a 90-95 degree heat wave and they were very busy.)  The installation was scheduled for 9:00 and they were prompt.  By 1:30 we had cool air and were very happy because it was another 95 degree day.

They did good work. However they gave a written bid then changed the bid when it seemed that I had committed to the work. Of course the new bid was higher. It was cold my furnace was broken needed it fixed. I will not have them come do the other furnace and air conditioner because of the bid change that occured.

"In response to the above, Max C Smith Company would like to offer the following: On April 8, 2013 we quoted (member name removed) a price to install an Amana 95% efficient furnace and an Amana 14 SEER AC for a total price of $6367.00. Shortly afterward, (member name removed) contacted us and asked for a quote on higher efficiency equipment. On April 15, 2013 we quoted (member name removed) on a Lennox 96% efficient furnace and a Lennox 16 SEER AC for a total price of $7348.00. (member name removed) advised he wanted the higher priced Lennox equipment and signed the contract for this equipment on April 16, 2013. We have tried to contact (member name removed) by phone several times in response to his review but he has not returned our calls."

I called Max Smith Co. after my parents recommended them, and I was as satisfied with the service as my parents said I would be.  The technician arrived on time, and he was not only friendly but explained everything very well.  He even wore booties to keep my floors clean.  I have seen better deals on this type of service, but I wanted a company I felt I could trust.  I will definitely use this company again since the price was still reasonable, and I believe I got my money's worth.

Did not try to sell me anything I didn't need.  But did state that if the AC stopped working again, that I would need to have someone check the lines for leaks or even replace the unit.  Now, two weeks later, the AC is not working again.

The install of the new furnace and air conditioner done by Max Smith Co. was done beautifully. They were in and out of here in one day. They even came back two months later to check everything up. Everything has been working fine. They were average in their pricing. The owner came out to make sure that everything was hooked up properly. He seemed to be very professional. I would use Max Smith Co. again in the future.

Did some repair work which 2 years later needs to be redone do to recurrent/persistent leak. Used subcontractors who failed to show repeatedly. The owner eventually sent someone out after many missed appointments.

I have a service agreement with them and pay yearly for the service. If something comes up and the cost turns out to be more than the service agreement then I do not have to pay more. They are punctual and call to let me know that I am on the schedule.

My sister has been ill and I was staying with her and noticed her air conditioner (only about 2 years old) was making a funny noise and the house wasn't cooling down as it should. I checked Angie's List and called this company. A very nice and efficient technician by the name of Brian came out quickly. He made some adjustments and the unit is no longer making noise and everything so far appears fine. My sister's home is new and Brian was very courteous and respectful and put on booties so not to dirty her carpets. We appreciated that.
