This was a multi-step process that went well.  I arranged with the store for a measurement & was told I'd be called to set an appointment.  There was a $35 fee (deductible if I used them).  I was called the next day to arrange the measurement in my house.
At the appointed time, the representative arrived to measure & diagram the house.  I then went back to the store to look at samples to get an idea of what I wanted.  Sample boards were available to take out for a $25 deposit per board & refundable upon return.
lHaving the samples in the house made it easier to select a color after I determined the type & quality of carpet and padding I wanted.  After comparing their cost with that of one other quote, I decided to use Lowes as their price was considerably less for the same quality of materials.  Next I arranged an installation date.  Once again, at the appointed time, a 2-man crew arrived.
The installers worked to remove the old materials & laid all the padding that first day over about 1500 square feet on two levels.
The old materials filled their truck & all the new stuff was too much for one trip.  I was told up-front that it would be a 2-day job.
So, after laying the padding, we agreed they'd leave then & return the next day with the remainder of the carpet & lay it all then.
They did indeed return the next day & focused exclusively on the carpet installation.  It seems fine to me and they did nice, neat work.  At the end, they did a nice job of cleaning-up all the scraps + vacuumed the entire area to remove the fuzz from the mill.
I'm very satisfied to this point.  I don't anticipate any problems with either the carpet or the installation, but only time will tell.

My wife wanted a new comfort height toilet, so I did the research and found that a Kohler model fit the bill.  Additionally, Lowe's offered a complete "kit" at a very reasonable price.  Since I never installed one, and Allegheny County requires a permit and installation by a Master Plumber, I contracted Lowe's to deliver the toilet (100 plus pounds) and install it.  The Plumber showed up on time, and did a great job.  There are three important points:
1. The contract administrative staff at the store was GREAT!  They consistently communicated with me to ensure that everything went according to the contract, which I greatly appreciated.  Additionally, the Plumber had rave reviews for them as well, saying that of all the Lowe's stores that he serves, this staff is the best at being on top of things.
2. The price was GREAT!  I saved hundreds compared to a local plumbing store.  The Big Box cost advantage was clear on this one.
3.  Despite a small room and a 100+LB toilet, the installation went perfectly.  I was very pleased.
Thanks Lowe's!

My experience with Lowe's started on April 4, 2011 when I purchased cabinets, appliances and the countertop for my kitchen.  The majority of the install was performed by another company since this was an insurance claim.  Lowe's, however, did install the countertop.
Upon install of the cabinets we found on one wall that the upper cabinets were 11/2 inches over the original measurement.  The bottom cabinets were 21 inches short of the bulk head where I wanted them to be.  (Lowes did not do the measurements - the insurance co. did and they were accurate).  I had to order a smaller cabinet for the top, and one more for the bottom.  Also, the one cabinet at the end of the peninsula was to have sliders and it did not.  I switched the make of the cabinets during the selection process and the sliders were not included in the new cabinets (I specifically said I wanted this feature for my pots and pans).  I had to reorder three cabinets.  When they arrived they were damaged.  I had to reorder them again.  By the time they were installed the installers for the countertop called me and told me my wait time would be 10-12 weeks.  That would put me in the middle or near the end of September.  I said that was ridiculous and that I would like my money refunded (almost $4,000).  they would do that but they had another option for me.  They would have their high-end stone company cut the Corion for me and I'd have it in 21 business days. (Because I liked the countertop I chose I agreed)   When it came time for them to measure they were ten business days behind.  I actually waited four weeks for the install.  When the countertops came in August they were the wrong color.  I told them to take them back and not to install them.  They then had the company put on the right glazes to achieve the proper color.  I was also told that after installation the countertops had to "set" for 24 hours before hooking up the sink, disposal, and dishwasher.  The company wanted to install the new countertop on the 2nd but I requested the 6th because the plumber who worked for the insurance co. could not come on a Sat.  They agreed.  When I went to the store to check on the color of their sample they told me they had to install it on the 2nd and would not do the 6th.  I told Lowes about the plumbing problem and I did not want to be without water in my kitchen for three days.  They arranged to have a plumber come on Saturday.  He actually called me to set the time (between 3 and 5 with a 20 minute notifcation by phone).  Today is the Saturday and guess what?  No plumber.  I called him and he was baffled as to why his workers didn't show.  I called the store and they could not reach the assigned plumber.  They called again to tell me they were trying to reach another plumber on an emergency basis but that was over a half hour ago.  The original plumber called and said he wanted to come Sunday morning.  I said I couldn't be hear because of church.  He asked when I could be here and I said 12:30--he was not happy.  The store finally called me and could not get another plumber.  The original plumber told them his truck broke down (he told me he had an emergency and he didn't understand why his "workers" didn't show)  and that he'd be here tomorrow morning even when I told him I couldn't be here.  The Lowe's person said "I don't want to be smart but couldn't you go to another Mass?"  My church only has one service on Sunday.  Considering I spent 3 hours waiting for the plumber today you'd think they could be accommodating.
Also, the countertop install took from 12:15 to 6:30.  When they measured for the back splash behind the sink and for the rest of the wall they were short.  They tried to "piece" in the remaining gaps--one end is exceedingly sloppy and you can see where they tried to piece it.  When they slid in the stove the back piece of the countertop cracked.  They tried to fix that and that also is sloppy.  The back splash behind the stove is buckling and there is a gap between it and the wall.  On the other side of the kitchen there is an 1/8 th of an inch gap between the countertop and the refridgerator (it also is crooked).

This has been one of the worst experiences with a retailer in my whole life.  The whole kitchen cost about $14,000.00 and these guys didn't even do the install!  It is 6 months since my kitchen needed to be replaced.  But as they say you get what you pay for and if you want to be tortured doing a remodeling job then I strongly suggest this Lowe's store.  If you really want to feel pain actually have them do the install.

We spent about $3000 on that service. They were a few issues because they did not do the outlining of the door right and I had to have them come back. The lock of the door also broke and I ended up getting locked outside in the snow and that was at 8 o’clock at night. It was just that the lock was spinning and they had to come and replace the lock, so I don’t think that they were particularly good. I had to have the fire department come and get me into the house.
