"Thank you."
He returned the next day and requested payment, even though this was not agreed upon in advance.
He was paid what he asked, left and I never saw him again.
I called him because the paint job was poor. He put tape on a seam and the tape showed through after a day or two.
He promise on several calls to come back and redo the tape and paint job and never did.
Now did he arrange to work on the balance of the list orginally given to him.
"[Member name removed], good morning. We both know that is not exactly how the story goes. But different eyes see things differently. I believed I keep you well informed of my situation. As a highly respected doctor I presumed you understood my journey, dealings with my wife's illness. Joanne (my wife) passed shortly after, and I am sorry you got caught in the middle. My apologies. I HATE CANCER. PS. PLEASE SAY HELLO TO OUR FRIEND LIZ."
"Thank you very much for the wonderful review. It was a pleasure working with you. And hope to have the pleasure again. Wally "THE HONEY-DO MAN""
Wally constructed three bannisters (two short and one full floor) where there had been none, but had sorely been needed. I'm a person who puts things off, so the bannisters were put on the back burner for years, until arthritis and age got the best of me. What I put off for those several years was accomplished in several hours by Wally. The nice thing is that he came to the house, assessed and measured what was needed, went out to a hardware-type store and brought back all the materials necessary to start and complete the job. The bannisters needed were short ones on each side of three steps leading from my laundry room up to my kitchen, which are used constantly, plus another leading down the steps from the main floor to my basement. He also stained the ones entering my kitchen to match my kitchen cabinets.
I recently had an electrician fix my outside back lights that had short circuited and so were no longer working. But I had forgotten to buy an in-wall timer that I wanted to control those lights, so he could not complete the job. Before Wally came to create the bannister safety features for me, I purchased a timer of my choice, and so he installed it when he was here doing the other work. Now, when I come home from work, my back and side yards adjacent to my garage are bright with light.
I found Wally to be very pleasant, very knowledgeable and very versatile with his handyman talents. The only reason I gave him a B for his charges is because I always think any charges from anyone for anything are too high, as my income shrinks. I was very pleased with his work, and would not hesitate to call upon him again, as I find things that need a professional fix.
